A good coach sets players up to succeed. Coronato has never played a pro game, been in a pro practice, been to a pro camp. He is not going to set the world on fire, or save this team. This is the first day of the next chapter in his pro development. Give him, and the team time to bring him in.

Hopefully it's a better effort tonight. Kings have been on an extended heater here and have the second best record in the West and 6th best in the league. So this is more of an elite team than just playoff contender.

Exactly. He is here to get a taste of how the pros work. He might get into game 82, but I even have doubts about that.

I'd be surprised if it's not part of the contract that he must appear in 1 game no matter what. I'd expect it to be essential to Coronato that year 1 of his entry deal gets burned this year.

The 2013 and 13-14 Flames played guys like Hanowski, Agostino, and Bill Arnold, and Bryce Van Brabant after signing them. It's usually a sign of a bad team with lots of injuries when they do this. Coronato isn't quite Cale Makar or even Quinn Hughes. Let the guy settle here, watch the pro game and see if you can get him into a game or 2.

We have to hope the Flames are thirsty for revenge after getting demolished in LA a week ago. The Kings are the hottest team in the league and due to cooldown a bit here. Nothing the Flames have done this year leads me to believe they are not going to lay an egg but being optimistic as a fan is more fun so I am hopeful they are going on a late run to get in.

Kings have been on a role but as Rhett noted in the podcast yesterday, they are destined to lose at some point. Might as well be tonight. Plus they blew a huge lead to STL the other night, nearly spoiled the win with a 7-6 final.
