Lee Valley doesn't sell Nintendo games or Thundercats, though. I'm not going to be flexible on that.

Tried Bed bath and it was silly, as any big sale they have every month has better deals than the 25% off they have now with about 30% of the store full.

if we're gonna bring back a bear mascot, let's start with the A&W bear with the tuba!

Here in the UK, Argos is basically the same as Consumers Distributing.

Until Wendy’s returns in a real storefront with food court option I shall remain disappointed- hopefully a franchisee will magically appear
In different news (and perhaps already covered) the Beacon Hill location of Miniso. Some interested stuff there that made it interesting to poke around despite the general low quality. Still… made for easy gift shopping for cute little things for kids and teens. I think the next closest Miniso is at CrossIron.

Both Buffalo Wild Wings have shut down permanently. No information why.

Kind of surprising but potentially lots of reasons to close too. Was a good spot for NFL Sundays.

Weird, are they American owned or one of those American chains opened by Canadian owners? Southland seemed decently busy during lunch/dinner and packed for any big sports games.
But also really dead with seemingly too many staff still on sitting around shooting the **** with each other (usually a recipe for financial disaster in the food/service industry) during off times.

I used to go for their buy one get one free wings occasionally, then called for it one day and they switched it to buy one get one 50% off, so $25 for 20 wings. (couldn't justify that for a one person meal)
I stopped going after that, then went one night months later and a waitress recognized me and when talking about it she said they lost tons of customers when they made that switch from buy one get one free to just 50% off. It's only $7, but every customer has a breaking point and apparently that was a big one for their clientele.

I cant even imagine what the monthly rent must have been on a place in that location of that size.
It must have been outrageous.

Yaah, that Mcleod corridor in the south is a live or die area. You don't have the downtown night out crowd, you don't have the newer community, concentrated population with young, spending couples.
What you do have is a lot of population kiiiiind of near by. So you can capture them, but they ain't coming by easy. You gotta nail it and establish a core clientele quickly or you'll rot despite the thousands of people seeing your bar/restaurant every day on the drive home.

Kingshead was an example of a bar that nailed a niche demographic and had people all over the surrounding area making it a plan to go there.
Rumour was that the new Shanks/Ranchmans owners also bought Kingshead and were staggering the openings so they wouldn't cannibalize each others return to the scene. Hopefully it opens soon and continues with the live music thing.

I wonder if Brewsters/Canadian Brewhouse/Hudsons or any of those types would look at that location and think they could draw in more customers than Buffalo Wild Wings?
Wild Wings had great wings, but you pay accordingly and it lacks the pub/true sports bar style atmosphere. It has more of that American style "families with kids go to that section, everyone else over there!!!!" all encompassing bar feel. Many don't like that atmosphere.

According to their website, these were the only 2 locations in Canada outside of Southern Ontario, so that probably played a role in the closure.

The shopping area near the Tsuut'ina Costco is slowly coming along. It looks like there will be a bank or two, Servus credit union, storage facility, car wash, bubble tea.....and of course a Tims (already open)
