I think he will be an impact player, he has NHL skating and NHL shot. With the way his defensive game developed this year as center I can see him becoming a Lindholm type player with a better shot (one timer esp) and a bit faster with time I would say. Huberdeau should love playing with him.
He will be very useful to us on the PP, he has a pretty good one timer and I am very impressed with how he adjusts his body position to receiver a one timer. Once Toffoli is off the Flames I fully expect him to be our one timer/shot option on the right side. He is also pretty good at changing his angle to get the shot off.
He got 36 (20g+16a) points in 34 games this year - just like last year, but he had a bit of a cold streak to end the year (1 goal in last 7) so he had 19 goals in 27 games which is really good for NCAA. I think he would fare better in a longer season with more games, he has the stamina for it.
Also, you know how the Flames right now do not have a big game player, Coronato's thing is that he is the big game player and gets that clutch goal. I feel like so many of his goals that I saw these 2 years where like 3rd period pp goal to go up or tie the game in the third, a goal with the net empty, or the OT goal. Hopefully that translates to the NHL, with him and Pelletier this team should way more lovable next year.

First round picks are fun. I wish this organization kept more of them.

Props to Treliving dropping the poop eating grin on deadline day when talking about leaving cap room for other players to join the team later this season.
I Knew Coronato was signing when tree did that.

Treliving said they project him as a winger in the pros, despite playing lots of center this year.

He wouldn’t have signed unless he got to use one year of his ELC.

Since they won the Cup the Flames have only not had a first rounder 5 times. It might only seems like they're always trading them away because they've traded 2 of their last 5.

Clutch as in he gets the big goal by the end of the game. Hard to get a big goal when you are down 8-0

"THE Bison."
Not to be confused with Matthew "The Bichon" Phillips.

Why is there always a couple of posters that when something good happens for the team they have to come in and be a total a-hole about it?

If Coronato is half as good as Johnny was, he will be an upgrade to our top 9. Can’t wait to see this young stud play in the show.

Nothing beats the agony of reading worse/worst transgressions. "They are the worse!" "This couldn't get any worst".

Based on his size, and his ability to shoot/score, I always thought of Cammaleri. Outside of some highlights here and there, I haven't actually watched Coronato play.
Is squid a decent comparable?

Absolutely, you could see it from his first time on the ice! He reminds me of Doug Gilmour.

Pelletier, Coronato, Zary, Wolf are a pretty solid top 4 prospects. The Flames will add a pretty solid player this summer as well to hopefully be able to add some solid players around our vets on long term deals.
Would love to see Coronato play and get a role right away but doubt that is how it happens

I can agree with you their!! They're many ways people can aggravate others with there grammar.
On a completely separate note, I'm really excited about Coronato singing with the Flames......Ba dum tss!

They don't need to chase anybody on the outside this summer. Just promote from within - and what a blessing that is.
That includes Walker Duehr.

I wouldn't use Cammalleri because I think Coronato is more physical and a better forechecker than Cammi was. It remains to be seen if he can score at the NHL level like Cammalleri and if he can then that would be awesome. He does look a bit like a right handed Cammalleri when he's burying one timers though.
Style-wise I think he's more like Gallagher with his skating and willingness to be involved physically. I don't think he is a pest, but he's not a perimeter guy.
