I would keep all top prospects away from the funeral procession that is the 2033-23 Calgary Flames. Instead load up the Wranglers for a deep playoff run and instil some playoff hardness and championship mentality into this franchise.

That ain’t how it works with top college prospects. You want him to sign you gotta give him the NHL games this season.

I'm sure they are just giving him time to gather himself and say bye to his team and coaches.
Last thing you want to do is be like sorry for the loss......sign here

I’ll be a little surprised if he signs.
He’s 20 and never played pro. He’s good but not dominant. Another year of NCAA or AHL are probably his best path. I think he plays one more year.
If he signs one if Pelletier or Duehr has to go down I think?

He is signing...it's good for both sides. He gets to burn a year and the Flames lock him up.
He can still play in the AHL next season if needed.
There is a 99% chance it's happening.

I am disappointed with Coronato's performance and progression this year, but I still think it's a no-brainer that they sign him.
Reduces risk and good for his development. For Coronato it make sense to burn a year of ELC.

“He’s a had a hell of a year – he was a dominant player at the Beanpot a few weeks ago and his game has matured and gotten better,” said Treliving, who projects Coronato as a winger, even though he played lots of centre this year due to injuries.
