I was surprised to see that stat pop up late in the broadcast. Really drives home how bad the shooting percentage has been and also how bad the goalies have been.

This game felt winnable, yet here we are.

If Sutter is going to live and die by his vets, I think these lines are worth a shot.

Some really bad decisions by the back end in the first period. Maybe some better forward support could have helped, not sure.

Need to really think through the top 6 for next year. I hate to see them spend more money back there as Weegar’s raise will kick in. But the existing group sure gets exposed when there are some injuries.

I like Duehr a lot but he’s a 4th line guy. That’s where he excels. And Backlund has been great so not sure why he gets demoted to 4th line duties.

Kadri might be a touch low on goals vs expected goals, but surely he must be high on offsides vs expected and unforced turnovers vs expected

Not so shocking when you consider that many of those shots were of the low calorie variety.

Nobody can convince me that zadorov is a good player

Having some good moments does not make you a competent player

I just think you ideally want your 3rd pairing guys to be low event defensemen. He's the exact opposite of that as he's a high event player as it's always something whether it be big hits, bad penalties, bad defensive plays, and the odd good offensive play. I just think it's hard to expect a quiet night defensively when you have a guy like him on the blue line. I like the guy and all but I do wish he was a smarter player.

To be fair, I struggled with the ordering of the lines. The way Sutter has deployed personnel this season I wouldn't be surprised if all 4 lines were close to the same usage, depending on the number of PPs. There isn't much fall off from line to line.

Very similar to how the roster has 3 second pairing defensemen.
