My question is why didn’t we challenge and have the refs look at it? Are you not allowed to challenge in overtime?
|
You don't get to challenge in OT. Or the final minutes of the game. That's all league.

Looks easy, but we've lost to every team on that list

If they put up the offense that they have lately, they should be fine.
The problem is when they fold offensively. That hasn't happened since that Ducks game, so that's encouraging.
Need Marky to be as close to his old self as he can be. I think in order for this team to generate the goals they're going to open up a little bit defensively as a result. Need our goalie to be the better guy. Not always elite, but just one save better than the other goalie.

“The challenge is not necessary in the final minute of the third period or overtime, when the league takes over all reviews.”

Huberdeau and Kadri have been massive disappointments.
Goaltending MIA for majority of the season.
Mangiapane can’t score.
Leading the league in posts.
I just feel like coaches are wringing all the water they can from this sponge. Coaching is just so far down my list of complaints.

This season is going to give me OT PTSD. It's almost like they stop thinking with less than a minute left in OT.
That said, it was a fun game, and a great performance by the Weegar - Andersson pairing. More of that please.

GWG's are automatically reviewed by league in TO.

I get that, but I'm genuinely surprised that with hundreds of fans posting and many mentions of the coveted two games and four points against the Jets being up for grabs (and much discussion in past weeks surrounding that two games), literally not one poster saw that and went "umm, nope" until this PGT?
Wow.

What game were you watching. Only reason game close. Our D and back checking was horrendous. How many odd man rushes we give. The 4 on 1 was over the top. Over weighted down deep defending leaving player after player open.

He just sucks.

I don't know. Flames can't seem to play above the fodder when they play them. I guess we will see.

Kadri (deservedly after Arizona) didn’t have a shift in OT tonight. Our big guys have been brutal in OT this year and haven’t made plays. I think Sutter has a lot of blame for this season, but OT is way less of a coaching issue to me than an execution issue. Stay above your man, make a play when you have the chance.

The goals are coming now. They have more confidence.
So I'd say there is a better chance than a week ago when I had no faith in them.

The complaint I'd have about OT tonight is I think Backlund, Toffoli, and Andersson were exhausted.
They probably played about 3 minutes of that OT, and IMO thats why they got that odd man rush with 20 seconds left.

Can you point me to some examples of people saying there were two head to head games upcoming? I don't seem to recall any such posts.

Both WPG and NSH have road games tomorrow afternoon. Winnipeg has the “easier” one Vs the blues but are back to back and did travel.
Hopefully Rittich is in net. But the Blues are pretty bad.
Flames could be six back by the time they play again on Monday.

I actually didn’t mind the combos in OT. Had some good puck possession and decent chances but couldn’t capitalize. And of course another post. Bad breakdown on the winning goal though.

I am, if our goalie just stayed on his skates once in awhile. It’s like he wants to make every save look like a highlight. Instead of just side shuffling over on his feet and making it look routine. How many goals has he let in this season where he’s not laying down or on his knees. Stand the hell up!
And quit bitching at the ref after every goal and looking for a excuse.

Jussi Valimaki with another 3 point night. So many decisions that have backfired on this team this year.
