Yes it obviously sucks to lose all these overtime games and tonight is no exception. but the point is very big.
Both things can be true.
This thing ain’t over.

It's very hard to win these games after a road trip. Harder against a top team.
They did well enough to win but got ####ed in the bounce department.
Now they go right back on the road. Just brilliant scheduling.

Good game. Games like this aren't why teams don't make the playoffs.

What’s the rule there? Why didn’t we challenge the goal?

Though I was more frustrated by Toffoli's defending / backing into Markstrom himself.

Well Hintz wasn’t even in the blue, if he has to move his glove it was because his glove was outside the blue. Not sure how that could ever be interference.
Either way, Flames deserved a better fate but that is how it goes.

Mang has no fire, loses puck battles, coasts on defence. Just a shadow of the player from last season. Hopefully just a down year for him. Not the same guy that was in contention for the team Canada roster

Tough loss, the Flames just need to regroup and get back at it. Good effort by Anderson, could have gone the other way.

League says no goalie interference. The guy has both hands on Markstroms mask just before the shot goes in.

If the Flames have any hope they need to run the divisional games remaining like Champs. It's all fodder from here on out. We'll except the Kings. Then it's all fodder

What? I kept hearing about this two game series against Winnipeg. Was that wrong?

They didn't give up 26 breakaways. He needs to stop more pucks. I thought he played a big part on the first time goals against, and couldn't make the big save on the tying goal in the third.
We are so deprived of good goaltending that even semi competent goaltending looks amazing.
His stats don't lie. Worst seasons of his career.

After a hot stretch, Markstrom has only averaged 87% in his last 5 starts (albeit this is being choosy, he got a shutout the game before).
Luckily, the team is scoring more.
The usual problems, Kadri and Hubderdeau, have to get it going.

No lead is safe with this version of the Flames. Crazy how often they give up leads. I mean points for clawing back but, this one feels like it should have been like a win.
Like so many others.

It wasn't goalie interference, that's why. Outside the blue paint.

As chippy and physical as Dallas plays, only one penalty against is pretty laughable. How do these refs look at themselves in the mirror?
And yeah that looks pretty sketchy: Hintz with his hands on Markstroms mask.

They might be swinging well below potential down the roster, but even with an average amount of favourable bounces they're sitting pretty. Despite the goaltending, despite everything.
It just feels like there is more working against them than there is any team in a normal year.
Seems they're destined to be that playoffs every other year team.

Huby and Kadri have no chemistry. No one timers, sloppy passes either too hard or into the skates.

What was needed was all 5 guys not collapsing around the net and leaving the guy open for a point blank shot

This is getting to be a little too consistent lately with Flames opponents.
Where are the calls?

The inzone Defense has been atrocious all year. I think Huska needs a reset or a new gig.
