Of all the forward lines the Flames have tried this year, Huberdeau-Lindholm-Toffoli have the 5th most 5v5 minutes together. It’s not like that line wasn’t given time to gel. It didn’t work then and I can definitely see why there is no rush to try it again.

Scoring Winger

Switching Kadri out for Pelletier would be ideal. Then we'd have the two worst ±/- players scratched, second worst being Lucic.

Yeah, I’m really worried about the Wild 3-0 game repeating itself

Sutter is reading the forum and accommodating.
Give the guy credit for finally trying
Pelletier only got himself to blame just like Ruzicka before. He had it good but started to make really stupid decisions. Slack off and you are out with Sutter. Maybe for a long time

Ritchie in for Lucic really doesn’t do much for me. But happy to see Duehr in.
Ruzicka needs to have a good game tonight to keep his spot IMO.

Well if you assume they average 14 minutes 5 on 5 a game, they got a little less than 12 games worth of ice time. As a comparable Mangiapane Backlund Coleman (assuming they average 14 minutes of 5 on 5 time) got a little over 28 games to gel.
Huberdeau Lindholm and Toffoli had the lowest expected GA of any Flames line in their limited time, and had a 58.7% X GF. I would have tried them for more than 12 games myself, just based on those stats.

And as has been posted multiple times, their time together was mostly at the beginning of the season, when Lindholm was struggling.
Huberdeau is the most talented forward we have. Lindholm and Kadri are our top 2 Cs. It CLEARLY isn't working with Kadri. Refusing to give it another try with Lindholm is unjustifiable.

I think the path forward is Huberdeau - Lindholm - Dube
Toffoli fits just about anywhere he is a shooter so with the teams style that works on any line.
I think Dube has out performed Mangiapane this season.

I could see both teams happy with this going in OT if its close; 4-3 Flames in OT

I'd be totally fine with OT, if I thought we had much of a chance of winning it.

If memory serves, the Stars are a tough opponent that the Flames have been pretty consistent in playing well against them. I see that as being likely again tonight.

Really interested to see these lines, especially Dube - Kadri - Duehr
Playing with them a bit...
Huberdeau - Lindholm - Coronato
Mangiapane - Kadri - Toffoli
Pelletier - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Ruzicka - Duehr
Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie
I'd be pretty excited to hit the playoffs with that lineup

When I watched the Anaheim game I couldn’t stop thinking how Ritchie was in many ways just another Lucic. I have no issue with platooning them in the lineup.

From what I have seen from Nick since the trade is that Brett is the more effective overall player.
