Very true. If anyone survives this generation of the Flames into whatever comes after Treliving/Sutter, I hope it's Backlund.

I think Backlund has been their best forward this year

And I think puck luck is directly linked to goaltending - bad goaltending sucks the juju out of you, and then nothing goes right. Good goaltending gives you jump and confidence, and then you suddenly start getting some luck

When you have high confidence you have better instincts.

Backlund had a good instinct with that shot, even if how it went in was flukey.
