Yeah episode 2 much better than the first one where they didn't seem to know what to do. Exciting and creepy, some great imagery. I really liked that weird 3-in-1 robot guy.
I thought the end was actually kind of funny, like you were expecting him to get dragged in by a monster or something but actually, they didn't know there was such a drop off in the water and he just sunk like a rock down for hundreds of meters. Be careful out there kids!

I'm also pleased the weird creepy robot guy in the tunnels was an entirely original character with no dumb Star Wars name or backstory.
So often on this show there's some weird character like that and then on here CaptainCrunch is like "Oh that was Floorbad Meepmoop from season X episode X of the Clone Wars / Bad Batch / Resistance / Christmas special, so cool to finally see him in live action"

Acktually, Floorbad Meepmoop is from the Old Republic era and is considered Legends material, except they must have just canonized him with this episode.
Yes, I am kidding.

It was funny because when that droid thing came out of the ground, my first thought was that they were going to canonize the Mando Basilik War Droids from the Old Republic era. But man that eyeball and the light thing was so well done.

Rebels/Clone Wars connections used as crutches frankly bog down the excitement and potential of this series a bit
Especially for those of us who are live action star wars purists
I get those were Favreau and filoni's babies, but maybe come up with some new things and people unique to this series
Though I will make an exception for Thrawn

"It was a trap"
[Mon Calamari guy's face]
Lol really guys. Let's keep that fourth wall intact.
Double agent communications girl is definitely trying to climb the new republic ladder so she can get access to then break out Moff Gideon. That's my bet, at least.
I think the interceptors belong to Thrawn's fleet.

Liked how they showed why the New Republic pretty much failed.
The social and political elite of Coruscant don't even notice a difference between the Empire and New Republic. They are really disconnected from the plight of the average citizen.
The former imperial communications officer even mentioned that the capital itself isn't much different other than the Imperial crests are gone.
Bo Katan has been redeemed in the eyes of the most conservative and hardcore faction of Mandalorians.
It does seem like the show is setting up for a final struggle for leadership between Katan and Djarin.

I love world/universe building episodes like that & providing context for the time and the state of affairs at the center of the galaxy
We were only left to wonder what was going on elsewhere during the sequel trilogy
I love that they borrowed and paralleled aspects of Andor in doing it
Goddamn Coruscant looked bad though. Way worse than the prequels. Oh well.. show budgets are what they are.
I don't think Katan and Djarin will face off. And if they do, it will be because they are forced to and will be short lived, because they clearly have too good of a relationship at this point. She's had many opportunities to seize the darksaber or fight Djarin to claim it and reclaim power. She saved him instead.

that was the biggest thing that had to happen for these interconnected story lines that lead to the sequels. That not only was the republic failing, but that probably a lot of the people on the outer rim were pining for the return of the order of the Empire. We've seen the return of crime lords and open slavery and disroder.
We all know this amnesty program for former Imperials is going to fail, and that its going to lead to Moff Gideon being freed.

Pretty funny Bo Katan just accidentally joined the cult she'd been mocking all last season. Imagine her surprise under that helmet. Though based on the episode title she's been converted? So its not coming off anymore.
Pretty sure double agent lady is probably a triple agent setting up the Mind Flayer to brainwash former Imperials back to being Imperials when the order comes in to assemble and fight again. Getting to the one guy who can create a bunch of clones is cheat code to massive force regeneration.

Thought it was a pretty dull episode, I'm here for The Mandalorian not the random doctor guy from season 1. I had assumed it was a long set-up to work in this cloning research as the next major plot point but turns out it was just an overly long way to set up the girl as some type of double agent / baddie. Zzz...

I wasnt sure what to think of it, but overall? I loved it! Wandering through an old Star Destroyer salvaging stuff? I thought that was so cool.
I'm going to give it another whirl, I do agree that it was a little light on the actual Mandalorian, but as a world-building episode I thought it was fantastic.

Title could also be referring to the Dr converting to the New Republic?

How do you know this isn't still "a long set-up to work in this cloning research as a major plot point"...?
