If you can do NHL hockey from the Dome, you can do AEW...
More to the point, if you can do Dynamite in Saskatoon and Rampage from Regina, AEW can do TV in the Dome.

Yeah Calgary got the shaft here. Likely it's due to the rigging in the arena, since I can't think why they wouldn't have a televised event in Canada's fourth biggest city. Would have been a great time to finally do a FTR / Bret Hart angle. In fact, it would have been perfect.

That said, good on them for doing this during the last Saturday of Stampede! There's gonna be a lot of drunk cowboys and tourists buying last minute tickets

WWE had no problems airing episodes of Raw from the Saddledome, so I doubt it's a venue issue. Really would have been nice to have a televised show there. Oh well.

I've noticed they've been doing a lot of mid sized buildings outside the major cities or 2nd visits when they know the crowd is there

Just dont think we have the right mid sized location they'd probably want, probably assume most fans who want to go wild drive down for seattle shows

Langley Events Center.

I don’t think the building has anything to do with it. WWE has held a ppv, a few raws and a smackdown at the dome with no issues. Scheduling may be part of it as the dome is fairly booked up over Stampede.

Has AEW ran house shows before? Can we expect all the big names or will it be a thin roster for a house show?

Good point...three may well be another event happening the night before at the Dome, which would make it so they couldn't do rampage live at the Dome.

It will be interesting to see what the setup will be for the show. Most AEW shows are not 'full house' shows. For example, even though it is a TV show, there were less than 9000 seats available in Winnipeg, a building that seats over 15k for hockey. The week before in Sacramento, they didn't open the upper deck. This would have been a ton of fun to have in the Corral (RIP)

I was at Canada Life Centre last night for Dynamite and Rampage, though my friends and I left midway through the latter. Crowd was absolutely bonkers for Winnipeg's two greatest during the main event.

That place was blowing the roof off all night. That was one of AEW's best Dynamite shows and one of their best venues so far.

Am I crazy in thinking these prices are high for a house show?

$500 for ringside...
For an AEW house show.
Hard no.

I went to a Nitro in Vegas in '98.... it was a blast! Still remember Sting coming down from the rafters to confront the Outsiders.

I attended that Nitro, Nitro's were really solid because of the undercard, and the cruiser weight guys.

I went to a Nitro near the end and honestly it was awful and more for the memes.

So I meant to post this the other day.

I sat down and watched my first full episode of Dynamite in probably over a year. I was surprised at how much better certain things were than I remember. The flip side is I was mortified at how much worse certain things were than I remember.

Moxley and Page are just... they're not good? I was so high on Hangman Page at one time and he just looks bad! Maybe it's just Moxley dragging him down, but that match was pathetic when those two were in the ring. Evil Uno moves better and more realistically than Moxley despite looking like a guy off the street in a mask. Grayson, Claudio and Wheeler all looked amazing, but the two headliners of the match were dog #### bad.

What the actual #### is their women's division? I remember it being bad. The snippets you see are dreadful but holy ####. That promo by Toni Storm, Ruby Soho and Saraya was some of the worst promo work I've seen. I visibly cringed. Then everyone running in. What the #### was Riho swinging? And when she's swinging it are we supposed to find her threatening? The nerf bat was bigger than she is! Holy moly, just put it in the ground leave it there for a few months and then bring it back slowly with hopes the time not being on TV allowed everyone performing to get their #### together and everyone watching to forget what was going on currently. The awkward Jade Cargill/Taya Valykrie thing was at least better, but that's a real small hurdle to clear. I wouldn't call it good, but it was at least not the worst thing I've ever seen.

Juice Robinson is a joke.

Darby Allen was a much better talker than I remembered. MJF was good, not the best I've seen him but still good.

The triple threat trios match wasn't awful and was actually enjoyable if not a little manic.

Powerhouse Hobbs is gonna be good. He's currently feeling to me the same way Wardlow did on his ascension, so hopefully they don't #### that up again.

Moxley is stale and boring IMO.

Him being named the wrestler of the year last year over Reigns or Zayn is a joke.

Moxley is pretty much a one trick pony. He blades in nearly every match, badly, and has a limited move set.

He started well, then became Stone Cold Jon Moxley, and now he's just not all that interesting.

The Woman's division is a utter mess, I think that we've learned that Saraya without WWE script writers and producers is pretty limited in what she does. Ruby, I like her, but to me, she's just incredibly clumsy and jerky in the ring. Toni should have never joined a faction, realistically she should have stayed as a face and been challenging for the woman's title.

There are some good elements in AEW, but the bloated roster, and really the guys at the top are really starting to hurt AEW.

And Tony after watching him over the last few promo's needs to put down the tiny golden spoon and get some writing and booking help.

I tuned in a few months ago, maybe in the summer of 2022, and Moxley made me turn it off. He is not original and he not entertaining. I felt that his character was a blatant rip off of Stone Cold Steve Austin and he did a very poor job of that.

I've watched matches or segments here and there since then but knowing that Moxley exists as a major player turns me away.

So I'll keep on re-living fond memories with A&E's WWE shows and old clips and stories I see on social media until some promotion does something interesting.
