Pretty cool that Canada has a sudden death, win or go home game. All you could really ask for.

Making the quarters would be awesome to see

Arozarena milked that hard and the ump and review room fell for it.

We should have started Brash as an opener, IMO. I know they want to save him for the close but we may not even have a chance to get him in the game, which would be a shame to leave your best pitcher behind.

His only appearance was the meaningless final inning against Grea Britain

Not so fast, got something cooking here. Jump on Urquidy and get him out of the game.

It sure would have been nice for karma to pay Arozarena a visit but he keeps getting the breaks.

5 versions of this tournament and Whitt is the only manager we've got. Not taking this tournament seriously.

To not use our best pitcher in one single high leverage situation this entire tournament is a massive fail by Whitt.

I don’t know why dinosaurs continue to get the manager jobs when their strategy and decisions are rooted in the 1980s

The tournament seems second rate from the start with players backing out. Canada is going down but I'm not upset about it at all. Canada's always had some great pitchers out of BC, but good batters are a few and far in between.

One thing for this tournament in the future they might have to look at is a bit of a different structure.

I think I'd almost go the 1st seed in each group gets a bye, and then the 2nd and 3rd placed teams go into a play off.

So Pool A seed 2 would have played Pool B seed 3. And Pool B seed 2 would have played pool A seed 3 for example.

Think it might make it a bit more exciting after the group stages.

Whitt's never has a managerial job in his life, he only gets hired by Canada.

Whitt was fine as a “just happy to be here” guy.

Now that Baseball Canada is where it is and actually has a chance to compete (clearly), they need a guy who has some desire to compete and to win.

Did they even ask Rob Thomson? We might be in the QF if they had

Are we out of the tourney? Apparently we have a slim chance at some weird tiebreaker pool?

I haven’t done the math, but it would have to be a really high scoring game with Columbia winning. Something like both teams in the high teens or 20s and then it might be close.

Yes, the US would have to lose and 22 to 17 at least.

Edit: I lied, its most runs allowed featuring just the tied teams, so Colombia, Canada and the US.

US 12 Canada 1
Canada 5 Colombia 0

Colombia would have to beat the US 12-8.

Slightly better

Oh hey, ok, that’s significantly better. Still unlikely but hey, something to cheer for!

Edwin Diaz looks like he might have just tore his ACL celebrating Puerto Rico’s win. Steve Cohen has to be losing his #### right now

Hate to be a dbag to laugh at such a thing but I kinda laugh at these simple injuries, but also it’s the Mets.

On a side note Andy Petitte looks in great shape. Almost like he could still play.

That really sucks for Diaz and for Puerto Rico in what was an amazing moment for them.
Don’t give a crap about the Mets but feel bad for Diaz and that team, what an upset eliminating DR
