They have also done weird stuff like use Huberdeau as the screener.
The one time I was about to scream him and Backlund made the switch and we scored and won.
I think it's also hard on the powerplay to have both Toffoli and Huberdeau on the same unit because they both have a sweet spot on the left side and Toffoli is money scoring from the circle.
I wonder if a Tkachuk like role for him would work just camp out by the net and post and make passes or try to create some chaos around the crease.

Still I feel if there was chemistry between the two we would have seen it after a whole season of top PP time together. I was hoping they would have it and be dynamite together but it doesn't seem to be there this season. Maybe they come back next year and click together. Let's hope.

For any Flames fan, disappointment had been pretty reliable for decades.

The 3 finals have been from two 6 seeds and an 8 seed, Last year excluded Sutter has proven he's a great coach in the playoffs, his problem is getting there.
Here's an idea, let him stay with the team out of Viking, hire a regular season coach and bring him in for the playoffs

On the backcheck no.
And the Flames play man on man so even their sides get jumbled defending in their own zone.
Faceoffs, you see guys flip to the middle often both in the defensive and offensive zones.
Starting out on a rush though for sure, and the breakout as I've said.

This is exactly what I think we will see. I don't necessarily like it, but it makes too much sense that this is the way the team would evolve based on who's in place right now.

That would be devastating especially since Muller is the one coaching the stagnant PP.
But it does seem like Bingos theory that he may be trying to stick it to someone might be true.
Just wondering if he was on board for bringing in Huberdeau and Weegar. Just small tidbits with players that stick out. When they had their press conference I found it weird that they never heard from Sutter it was 2 days after the trade. I know Sutter goes off the grid in the summers but last year he was actively engaged with Gudbranson trying to get him here.
Also wonder if not bringing back Gudbranson irked him, the player they brought into replace him has not since a single a game.
He was given a lot of his players like Lewis, Richardson and Pitlick, but his comments about Jarnkrok came across as strange as well. Sounded like a bunch of players really wanted him, and Sutter put in a position he just was not well suited for.
Just goes back to the choices thing Bingo talked about just seems bizarre.

Gudbranson signed on Sept. 10.
Huby trade was July 22. It also wasn't 100% clear if he would even be on the team for training camp at that time

I think it was clear he got those players because we wanted them long-term he pretty much said that once he heard those names they zeroed in on Florida.
I really don't think he wanted to go through what he went through that situation again.
Gudbranson has said that him and Sutter stayed in constant communication during the summer.
Its not just those moves even with Pelts and Phillips being brought up and in Phillips case given 14 minutes called small sent packing.
Treliving said he gave Sutter a talking too to stop the nonsense when discussing prospects.

Sides get jumbled man to man for wingers all the time? When the opposing D cross, like they do all the time? I am not buying that. It’s more the F’s forcing the Flames D to make mistakes that I have seen
I’m with the crowd that will defer to the player
If Huberdeau says he prefers it and plays better there, that’s good enough for me
Sutter’s comments about what side Iggy shot from when he scored are pretty much meaningless without him explaining why he didn’t then slot Iggy at LW.
More likely Sutter isn’t the type to publicly admit being wrong

Kind of feels like the Calle Jarnkrok example. Stuck him up the middle and he just didn't look right and put up 4 assists. This is a guy that played wing most of the time.
Hes back on the wing in Toronto putting up 15 goals and 30 points.

Okay, but Sutter not talking to the new players over the summer isn't a big deal

So not communicating during the summer and during the season is ok?
