He also scored through the middle of the ice not the right wing and it wasn't a snipe he tipped in a pass.

I apologise if you feel like I was giving you attitude, I was simply disagreeing.
I just didn't see it as anything other than Sutter saying essentially that :
- it was a nice goal
- it doesn't matter what side you play on as long as you are putting yourself in a position to score, like great players in the past have done

Huberdeau knows far more about the intricacies of the position and what it takes for him to personally feel at his best and most productive than anybody else. I think it's extremely ignorant of not only Sutter but us as fans to believe that a player should transition with ease or succeed in a position he hasn't played at with any regularity. The fact that Sutter made that decision without communicating with the player and let it ride for months on end is truly perplexing and points to a major flaw in Darryl's approach.
It's also quite the contradiction as Darryl has stated on multiple occasions in the past that certain players (Tkachuk and Mangiapane) play significantly better on certain sides.

Communication works both ways. If the player was so distraught about playing on his off side then he could have talked to the coach, or even the assistants if he didn't feel comfortable. Would Darryl have listened? Perhaps not but at least stand up for yourself. Rather he's too busy using his agent as the communicator through cheap twitter insults. Even at the beginning of the year he admitted that him and Darryl don't talk. That's a failure on both the player and the coach. He always seems to deflect and take no responsibility. And this post isn't saying the head coach isn't equally as responsible. There should be dialogue and both need to grow up.

I’ve been a bit removed from this season, but I need to understand something. The Flames went the whole season playing JH on the wrong side and only now moved him back to his natural wing? If true, that is the most Flames decision ever. Jesus

And he and they were playing amazing all of those 30 games!
It was definitely the right call to keep the lines stagnant for months while our playoff chances wilted.

I think this whole left/right side has been blown out of proportion. Since January 1 (rough estimate as to when he switched sides as I was going off of a posters 3 month range) he has 19 points. From the beginning of the year till Jan 1 he had 25 points (I guess last night's two points could be moved to the other column)
This is just further proof that he hasn't exceled in any given situation or position.

And this LW/RW situation is Sutter in a nutshell.
He's basically right that it doesn't matter a lick on the offensive side of the puck. It's on the player to create and he's not stuck in a lane out of his own zone.
But the way he presents this to the player (reportedly) and the media (gruff and mocking) is just so damn ugly.

No, not always.
In this case they saw it as Darryl being Darryl. And given his history of sarcastic / dry comments to media its sometimes hard to not see what he says as a subtle dig. Even if it isn't intended as such.
Personally I can't watch his pressers without looking for the message within the message. Even if I don't want to, I still find myself wondering.

But once that incident with the agent got out in the open, JH had a very good game saying it "fired him up". Where was that effort before and after? It's like I said once before if it was iggy, he would take it as a challenge start a fight, take his game to the next level. Johnny G and Iggy could take the game over, that's why they got paid. JH didn't really have a leadership role in Florida, he needs to stop being passive and be the leader out there rather than vent to his agent. Sutter may have put him on the other wing out of his comfort zone to challenge him, Of course he is going to get praised by Sutter if he steps up his game.

I wouldn't say that's true at all. A lot of chances for high skilled players come off the rush. Players are taking the shortest path to the offensive zone on the majority of rushes because there is back pressure, so you're going to end up on your positional side off the rush more times than not. After that, sure, they'll move around and create as they see fit, but that's discounting a lot of the time they get with the puck to create high danger opportunities.

We need good games from huberdeau and Kadri for the last 16 to even have a sniff
That's not a large body of work given how many nights they've coasted through thus far
Can they do it? Or do they take Arizona lightly tomorrow and coast again
