A scheduled loss quite frankly. Prove us wrong and we'll go from there.

I think the roster with Ruzicka and Duehr in it is the best possible version so maybe they win tonight…? I’m only cheering for wins, so Go Flames!

With the two road wins I was starting to see a path.

Flames lose the Ducks and the Jets get badly outplayed but win in Florida and it's pretty dark.

Can change with a run of outcomes though I suppose.

Just doesn't feel like this team has a run in them though does it?

Can't make up space on the jets but don't want to drop behind other teams.

3-2 OT loss

Go sens Go!

Flames should just keep playing as hard as they did against the lowly ducks, that’s what this team really is.

Flames have won 2 of the last 8 meetings vs Ottawa and 4 out of the last 13. For whatever reason the Flames have struggled against that team no matter how bad or good they are and they have been plenty bad over their history.

No one was happy we lost to the Ducks, but losing to them doesnt make us "dead". Win tonight and we've won 3 of 4. Jets also are on a b2b against the Lightning. We could very well wind up that same 4 points back from them. Our next opponent is Arizona and a tough but not impossible Knights team. Jets following 2 games are against the Hurricanes and Bruins. After that 13 games for each team and a head-to-head. Were not anymore "dead" than we were before the Ducks game. Winning 17 straight wasnt going to happen.

I predict the Flames fail to score 5 on 5. They may not score at all.

This is one of the most depressing GDTs in awhile. That means we’ll win!!!

Ottawa matches up well against Calgary for whatever reason. They've won 7 of the past 10 against Calgary, despite being lower in the standings for almost all of those matches.

Would like to beat the sens simply to put a dagger in their playoff hopes. Though then that makes their pick better that they’re sending to the western conference.

A regulation loss puts (or should put) the Flames fully in tank mode and gives the Sens some critical anti-Bedard points though so really the only bad result is a OT game so that’s probably what’s going to happen.

They already have, Nashville passed them in the standings last night.

Watching the games last night shows how offensively challenged this team is. Was evident against ANA.

Other teams have game breaking stars. We lost our two stars. We have no stars now. We have none on the horizon.

We are a non contender for years to come.

All season it has seemed like there a couple teeth missing on the cog and they can't get it into high gear and stay there. Be it goaltending that was consistently below average or not scoring key goals or giving away leads late in games with bad lapses.

Plus the cumulative frustration that likely is building with things not coming together for more than a game or two.

Man that's fun!

Hockey changes quickly, roster evolve, teams surprise both ways.

Hell Johnny Gaudreau was a 4th round pick.

Can't imagine bringing that level of bleak to things!

Hockey changes quickly, the flames dont. By that i mean its the same thing over and over again in terms of mediocrity , why would anyone expect anything different?

They roll the roster over as quickly as anyone. They've had 5 head coaches in 7 seasons as well.

By record they have been a middle of the pack team since Treliving came in, but on a crazy on / off rotation.

Plenty of teams with more success. Plenty of teams with less.

But if you want to believe it's worse than it is ... go for it!
