Sutter was exactly what the old core needed. Bringing him back was a great move.
It’s clear that he’s not the right fit for this team. I think he’s a good coach, but sometimes personalities don’t mesh for whatever reason.

I guess Tre just happened to bring in a bunch of players that are total crap.

CORRECT. Mcdavid 12 pts in games 1, 2 and 3. 3 pts in games 4 & 5 (1 into an empty net). Granted they still lost games 4 and 5 but Sutter was part of the problem in that series, to go with goaltending and odd man rushes.
Its almost like both Markstrom and Sutter completely forgot how to preform their duties from that series on.
He needs to go, first and foremost.

Was Connor not very good in that series. Like exceptionally, take over a series kind of good?
Was Markstrom not brutal? Like extremely and uncharacteristically(for last season) brutal in that series?
Where in my post did it suggest to you that I didn’t watch the games? Coaching was very far down the list of problems in that series.
You want to make a blanket statement like that, at least back up your claim a little bit.

Sutter didn't adjust or if he did it was far too late. Just like he's doing now. You act like the head coach has zero control over anything, if a player is bad well that's a shame nothing he can do.

End of the season cannot come quickly enough.
There are so many things wrong with this team I wish we were an expansion franchise and could start from scratch.
Seriously I am already jealous of fans in Atlanta, Houston or whoever winds up with a team.
Just a fricken mess from top to bottom.
I was a huge Sutter fan fan but I want every coach, manager and player gone.
We need to start over.

Was actually just commenting on the poster’s take about him being out coached in that series. I don’t think Woodcroft put on some master class or anything. He had the best player on the planet taking his game to another level. That will make any coach look good.

Was same with Ruzicka. 20 points in his first 28 games played - demote him to the 4th line and watch his offence dissapear.
Sutter's offensive lineup decisions are just baffling

Baffling isn’t the right word. It’s “wrong”.
Who here watched this game and thought the effort was “good”?
Sutter said it was good. I was surprised at that, because it was a bad effort. Again. And that’s not acceptable. Or, shouldn’t be anyway. I don’t know how you look at a game where nobody skates to the middle of the ice, no big hits are thrown, no intense skirmishes and nothing ####ing happens and say it was a good effort. No, that’s a bad effort. Going to the middle of the ice is hard. It takes effort. That’s why they lose. It’s why they make goalies look like all stars.
Crashing the net is a thing that has worked in hockey strategy since hockey was invented. Why the Flames don’t do it especially with this roster is mystifying.

I wish someone in the scrum would have asked Sutter if Lucic or Lewis or Ritchie had the jump tonight. Peltier may have been off of his usual level but he was still better than half of the team.
Time for Sutter to start holding the old vets accountable. His undying faith in them should have been broken 30 games ago when they proved that they weren't bringing it.
Duher had better be hurt right now. No other reason in the world for him to be sitting.

As for Sutter- obviously- he’s been bad this year. It’s pretty obvious. He’s making pig headed, idiotic decisions and then sticking to them because of ego, even though he’s wrong.

1 goal or less scored in 5 of our last 7 games, for a team supposedly fighting for a playoff spot.

I thought Sutter was a smart coach.
But this year for whatever reason he’s proven to be a complete dumb ass.
I was a huge Sutter fan but I haven’t seen this kind of incompetence from a Calgary Flames head coach ever.

And tell me with a straight face that’s good effort. With this team.
On paper coming into this season this was a #1 seed and actually a Stanley Cup contender. They won the division last year and many said the off-season moves improved the team. And you’re going to tell me tonight was a good effort?
Kadri is garbage. Brutal attitude. You’re being paid millions to play hockey, try.

I don’t think this is a ‘crashing’ roster
Huberdeau got 115 points with a lot of fine passing
Kadri was on pace for 100+ on a fast and cup winning team not known for crashing
Why they are doing the first 80 percent of it, controlling play and getting a high volume of garbage to the net when they don’t have crashers in front is more mystifying

Lucic had a 1:40 shift. After literally standing still in the first period. Like, he was on the ice, but he was just watching. I’m not even exaggerate. None of his limbs were in motion. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
Meanwhile Walker Duehr, who has literally outplayed like 75% of this roster over the last couple months, is not dressed. Half the Wranglers would have outperformed the Flames tonight. I’m not even sure the Flames could beat the Wranglers right now.

Do you remember such names as Gilbert, Gulutzan, Ward, or anyone else named Sutter
