I mean, the Ducks do have the worst Goals Against in the league by a fair margin, so you can't expect to score too many on them.

There have been 19 games this year where the Flames have outshot the opponent by more than 10 shots, yet lost.

Well see you all next game where Sutter won't change a damn thing with his lines because they're fine; it's the players who simply aren't executing. Lucic is a key player in Flames run to the playoffs. Having the best passer player with best scorer, and centre is foolish.

Why can't this team suck enough to get Bedard at least.

I have to admit, I missed the last two games and I was surprised to see so much hope in these forums. People really thought this team had a chance of making the playoffs...so long as they cashed in on weak opponents like Anaheim...right?

Flames: "hold my beer"

It's really a shame, because the fans deserve better than that garbage show on the ice tonight. I can count the players who gave a #### on one hand:

Andersson
Backlund
Tanev
Toffoli
Markstrom

Everybody else bailed and put in a spectacularly bad showing tonight. They effectively killed any hope left in the season. Shoulda known better by now Flames fans...

It blows me away how awful Weegar is offensively. Our best shift of the game had a dead tired Anaheim line out with fresh Flames, and Weegar gifted Gibson an easy glove save and whistle from a harmless shot with no traffic in front and all the time in the world to make a better play.

He should accidentally have a few goals this year with even moderately smarter shooting decisions. Travis Hamonic has 5 goals to Weegar's 1.

Huberdeau turns 30 in June. That will be one long 8 season contract starting in September.

I'm still not willing to write off Huberdeau and Weegar until we see them in a different (and hopefully better) system.

This team is missing…the guy.

Does that make sense?

For years we had Iginla & Kiprusoff. They took turns being that guy. That guy that could just take over a game and make a difference by themselves, and did so frequently.

Then we had Monny, for a few years he was that guy. So was Jonny. Then Tkachuk

Now we have…?

We don’t have a guy anymore. It’s just a wasteland of the sea of sameness. Interchangeable NPC’s who just don’t make a difference.

Boring. Uninspiring. Bleak. Melancholy

Hoping for a bottom 10 finish. Then fire Sutter. Hopefully the team is worth watching next season.

It's very simple. Fans don't like the product they see on the ice. They think that by losing games, management will be forced to make roster changes or a coaching change. In extreme circumstances, ownership will make a management change. On top of all that, a worse record gives you better odds at picking higher.
