Whoever are left are probably on visas which, if they can't find other work, means they are trapped at Twitter. Anyone who had options are already gone.

yay. EV's acceptance has been accelerated but marginalized groups are being victimized an accelerated rate, and he keeps throwing gas on the fire.
What he's doing with twitter is only really newsworthy to people that use twitter or people like me who don't use twitter but find some entertainment value of an egomaniac burning up his money on a company he's ruining.

I'm not sure I agree with that. Twitter has played a critical role in various social revolutions around the world, including:

- 2009 Moldova civil unrest, claiming that the elections, which saw the governing Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) win a majority of seats, were fraudulent
- 2009–2010 Iranian election protests, also known as Green Revolution and Facebook Revolution, following the 2009 Iranian presidential election
- 2010–2011 Tunisian revolution, also known as Jasmine Revolution and Wikileaks Revolution, in which the regime of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was ended after 23 years
- Egyptian Revolution of 2011, in which the regime of Hosni Mubarak was ended after 30 years
- Euromaidan Revolution in Ukraine, beginning in November 2013.
- 2021 storming of the United States Capitol, on January 6, 2021, rioters supporting United States President Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

What happens on Twitter does not strictly stay on Twitter. Social media can have a very real impact on people's lives, well-being, and national stability.

Social media is poisonous, and any time one of them collapses in spectacular fashion it’s to be celebrated.

Governments rose and fell long before Twitter.

If, probably when, Twitter doesn't exist in the near future people will find other ways of using the internet to organise, communicate and promote, as they do this, at first unfocused and a bit disorganised until through this process what will replace Twitter will emerge

This is a fun thread.

He's been tweeting all day, I wonder if his other companies are happy to not have him around as a distraction.
Even better.. Musk being the worlds biggest hemorrhoid is likely going to cost him a LOT of money, because he just can't help himself being a piece of ####.

If anyone is wondering why he just apologized…it’s this…and only this.

Musk needs to cut his losses and sell twitter fast to save himself, Tesla starting to tank again and spaceX's dependence on NASA he needs a babysitter, if he keeps this crap up he'll just be a normal millionaire within 3 years.

Once known as a genius, with every day that passes he's looking more like a flake and a dummy

It's funny that Musk thought he could yet again belittle and bully someone he thought was a nobody.
I love that he ended up ####ing with the wrong guy.

you know he stepped in it when he apologizes. how often does he do that?

Even that 'apology' was weird. He basically blamed other people for his #### up. This guy doesn't like being accountable for being a ####ty human being. Then again, that's part and parcel of being a member of the alt-right and embracing their values of not taking personal responsibility.

He should probably watch Arnold Schwarzenegger's 12-minute video that was posted yesterday. Might help.
