Honestly a solid period all things considered, hopefully the boys find their legs here in the 2nd and jump out to a lead.

A little late to the party, but that Hartman slash was brutal.
That could have easily been called 'intent to injure'.
That was not an attempted stick check that rode up; it was directly to his hand, and looked targeted to me.

A real good look for the league.
I bet Brian Burke is loving it.

Right.
But at the same time, the PP coach has determined that Kadri is the primary guy to enter the zone with the puck. IMO, that is the #1 problem with the PP. He coughs it up way too much.

Yep, and that's how the entire Minnesota team has played calgary for years now.

This is so true, numerous times through the year I noticed this happen and it irked me each time lol

Totally, it’s a suspendible slash imo, total intent to injure play and the league should be protecting its stars with Andy being a star D in this league. Watch him only get a fine if that though.

I actually think Hanifin just grabbed Dubes stick, as Dube looked surprised as he was facing the other direction. Unless my eyes deceived me.

It's always going to be 1 v 4 with him.
I recall last year with Johnny they would get turned away so on the reload they would make a bunch of passes at the blue line to get in easily.
Kadri pretty much kills that with the way he rushes up.

True. But who else? Backlund might be the best forward carrying the puck. Maybe get Zadorov - he seems to love end to end rushes.

Oh man I’d love to see that only because I love watching Zad at top speed! Sooooo smooth! I think our PP could have been so much different this year with Kylington taking another step and being a QB.

Yes, I remember that game. He took two hard slashes from Ryan Sutter and Eric Staal which broke his finger.
That was the same post game interview where Troy Brouwer stated it was part of the game, to be slashed.

I know some of would get on Johnny with his curl backs, but he truly is head and shoulders above anyone on the Flames now with respect to handling and carrying the puck. Then when cornered or room runs out, he can make the elite dish between the opponents legs/sticks to find his target.
