Way less screwing around...you just feed the cord through your firewall and leave the cord accessible like you would with a block heater cord. I had one of these in the fricken 90s. They work like a charm. Windows are clear and vehicle is toasty warm.
Ya, that's kinda like what my dad had. I think he put it under the driver seat. It was great.

The snow is less of an issue because the sun is high enough now that the roads melt easily

Welcome to a traditional March in Calgary

At least the people that like it cold are getting their wish. It said -19 when I took my dog out this morning but it felt closer to -30. Not sure if it's a humidity thing but can normally do the regular walk at -20 but not this morning.

I’ve found it has felt warmer this week than the temperature. No fuss shovelling and short walks.

This morning was a good example of it feeling much warmer than the temperature would suggest; don't know what Erick Estrada is talking about. The temperature on the thermometer in my back yard was -22 °C this morning, but with no wind and the sun on the verge of poking out behind the clouds, it didn't feel anywhere near that cold. I have an old house with crappy single-pane slider windows and they usually ice up badly below -10, but there's very little frost on them today. By the time I got to my office this morning the thermometer in the car was up to -16. If you'd asked me to ballpark the ambient temperature I would have guessed maybe -10, -12, somewhere in that neighbourhood.

Well of course he's going to be cold, he rides around on a motorcycle in a t-shirt all day

You clearly weren't riding a bike into the south wind! It felt colder at 7am for sure. I'm just tired of putting all the layers on to commute. Looking forward to shorts, socks and T-shirt weather...saves me a good 10 minutes each way!

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to shorts and T-shirt weather too. I'm super-tired of this ####; just saying it doesn't feel quite as bad as the ambient number would suggest.

No. There’s absolutely no way to keep your torso warm during inclement conditions. Take your wizard sorcery back to hell.

Tailwind for me, what "felt colder" do you speak of?

Oh man, with the cloud and wind it's way colder today than yesterday. Definitely toque weather this morning.

Come on weather carrot!

The weather the past couple weeks has been pretty wild. I know March historically can be Calgary's highest snowfall month, but waking up to "feels like -28" a week before St. Paddy's Day feels extreme.
