It would increase his TOI so that would be in line with Sutter's utilization of him.

Reluctantly leaving work early to attend tonight, I don't think I've ever been less excited to have them in town.

I'm selfishly disappointed this game isn't next month where maybe I'd at least get to see Wolf, Phillips, Coronato??

I really only want 3 things now. Coronato ELC, Wolf or other prospect call-up, and a nice high 1st round draft pick.

Actually a 4th thing - I don't want Sutter back next year. He can keep playing Lucic 14 minutes a night but he needs to be sent packing when game 82 is over.

This is out of place in the GDT so my apologies but just how fascinating is this off season going to be, starting with whether or not Treliving stays.

It's called quiet losing. Trying to get the best possible draft pick while looking like you're still trying to win.

Kadri and Huberdeau still together. Thank goodness.

a) Everyone should be on the table, especially those that are not willing to say if they are going to extend or not July 1st

b) Is there anyone else out there that is a better candidate than Treliving? Probably not.

Re: B

So much hinges on this. Is Sutter the guy with ownership? Do they find him a GM and let Treliving walk? Does Treliving want to walk regardless? If they want to keep Treliving and he doesn't want to stay, yeah, who fills that spot and does Darryl have input in which case we circle back to Sutter getting his own guy in a roundabout way.

Treliving President of Hockey Ops, Sutter GM

Half joking but I always figured Treliving loses the GM job when he gets promoted out of it

I don't know how plugged in Lubo is but on 960 this morning when Russo asked him if Treliving or Sutter would be the Flames GM next season he said "neither".

At this point I want to see them clean house. New GM and totally new coaching staff. None of them should be back. Actually Conroy can stay as assistant GM, every one of the rest needs to be changed out imo.

Treliving getting a promotion to POHO and then having Conroy take over GM makes sense to me, though I also wouldn’t be surprised if they do a GM retread that Sutter jives with like Lombardi.

Conroy as GM and Love as coach could be an interesting look in a year or two.

If Treliving isn't going to be the guy, they better have someone else in mind ready to go as there won't be a lot of time to get up to speed before an absolutely critical draft week.

I'm not on the "Fire Sutter" bandwagon but please no to him being GM if/when Treliving isn't re-signed.

I think the problem with Conroy is he is too attached to some of the players to make a fair assessment hes been around since the Feaster days. Sometimes a fresh perspective is better.

Definitely not Lombardi if its to appease Sutter as he is not a long term solution as a coach even if he coaches next season.

If the owners are letting Sutter really meddle around do the things he is doing to get Brad fired they are making a huge mistake. Treliving is one of the better GM's in the league.

Management will likely need a full clean out re hire.

Only people who should stay if tree isn't GM should be the Amateur scouting department. That's it.

I'm guessing if the end in some beheading, everyone is gone. Top to bottom.

I would hope so. After this season, a fresh start certainly makes the most sense to me.

Thoughts and prayers Lonestar.

I don't think you have to be concerned about a missed opportunity to see any of those guys up with the big team, regardless of where the big team is. With the Wranglers in the midst of chasing an AHL crown I can't see them calling up the guy that gives them a chance to win every time he's in net. Wolf won't get a sniff until next training camp. Coronato may or may not sign. I think it depends on how Harvard finishes and what the makeup of the Flames management team is like. Sounds like he's looking for immediate opportunity and some stability before he signs. Phillips is a no go. Flames won't waste one of the four callups on a player that won't be around next year. So on the bright side, you're not going to miss anything of consequence or hope.
