Sorry, but that doesn't fly. You've handcuffed their creativity, and now you blame them for a lack of it. Sorry, but that's a fireable offense IMO.
If you look around the league most of the last generation coaches have run their course. With Boudreau fired we are down to two 60+ year old head coaches and Ruff is probably on his last gig in New Jersey as is Darryl in Calgary. I still believe Darryl Sutter is a great head coach but his philosophies are a little dated in that he's still all about size and experience in a league that has become all about youth, skill, and speed. I just don't think it would be good for the organization to go another year of rolling four lines and overplaying non-offensive contributors.

If Sutter was such a great head coach then after being canned by the Kings he would have been hired by another team instantly. He claims "retirement"...nope, no one in the league would hire the guy for a list of polarizing and shelf life reasons. Only the Flames were dumb/desperate enough to hire him.....the Flames are the blue box of the NHL, they recycle.

Or ... there is some truth to his claim that he'd only coach in Alberta and Chicago.

Now that were post deadline we're limited in the number of call ups from the farm right?
If I remember correctly, they have 2 call ups left

Marlstrom's been pretty darn good in his last few games, since the baby/coming in for Vladar against Boston.

Based on recent play, if they really want to lose then Vladar should get the start.

They are now 2 back of the Kraken for the league lead so that would be something no?

Also Tyler fofoli (Tied for league lead)! has hit more crossbars than the entire Senators team combined and also the Flyers team.

Nick Ritchie makes his Flames debut. Forward lines shook up a bit.

Wow. How'd Dube get the drop down to 4 C? How did Dueher lose his spot?

But at least Pelts get a top line gig.

Are they getting Dube ready for 3rd line centre role…in case Lindholm or Backlund are not here?

Yeah, they’ve been doing so well the last 5 games. Crazy of them to change anything.

And yet won't separate Huberdeau and Kadri.

Huby Lindholm and Pelletier could have been interesting.

Wow I can't believe he shuffles the lines but keeps Huby with Kadri. Does Lindholm hate Huberdeau lmao. I have seen barely any chemistry between Kadri and Huby, and they have been together for what 40 games now?

Good to see Lucic and Lewis still in the lineup. The ultimate goal of this season needs to be achieved and they are the most important players for doing that.

If your going to play Dube at center, make it between Huberdeau and Pelletier

This obsession with getting Lucic to dress 80 games is something else

He won't play another game in the NHL after this season. Maybe a PTO with exhibitions somewhere at best

Why are we this loyal to a guy on the verge of retirement, over a player like Duehr who likely has unrealized potential - or literally any one else

Sutter only needed to swap Kadri and lindholm
