I remained patient and supportive of Sutter all year to this point, but saying the team doesn't have any game breakers is the tipping point for me.

It reminds me of the huge failure that was his brother Brent, saying the team lacked talent, and therefore had to play 'his way' to be successful. Now Darryl is doing the same thing, essentially saying the team lacks the talent to be successful unless they play his way.

Sorry, but that doesn't fly. You've handcuffed their creativity, and now you blame them for a lack of it. Sorry, but that's a fireable offense IMO.

TBH I'm looking forward to autopsy of these team when the dirty laundry that's been hinted at comes out. Is this a swipe at his team? Or the GM? etc. During Francis' segment Friday afternoon on 960 was the closest I've heard local media come to alluding to the rift in the arranged marriage.

I don't think there is any question that there is a rift - you can hear it bubbling below the surface every time Treliving speaks.

Phillips was a pretty good example of the difference in philosophy - Treliving can bring players to the trough, but it's up to Sutter to feed them.

As another example, I think Treliving would have loved to trade Lucic, to make a point. But unfortunately there were no takers.

The team is in danger to loose our natural and historic position 17th. There are 5 teams with 68 points so winning today will put this team right back 17th. Go flames go!

You nailed it

I think coach D might have lost it here. Never emulate Brent

I don't even know what to cheer for anymore. Cheer for a win...Sutter stays in. Cheer for a loss...Sutter stays boss.

And if we get a high pick? He probably won't get played until 2027. I'm somewhere between apathetic, disgusted, bored and just... disinterested for the most part. But I'll probably watch.

I suspect the team will be up for it today against Dallas. So a W is my prediction.

I have had the same feeling as well just the product on the ice and the way the coach has handled.

Brent pretty much lost the team when they started 4-0 and he kept blasting them after wins saying its not the right way.

Saturday really spoke volumes he plays his "bums" the same amount as Lucic and the boys. After the game he says he needs someone to score but you spent the entire year saying you don't have anyone on the team who can score so you need to pump 40 shots from the outside on net.

Reminded me of when Brent went on his little tirade before a game vs Detroit about playing the right way and every line playing the same. Well if you want your creative players to grind it out along the boards don't be surprised you don't score and win as much.

The game has changed a lot. You need to allow your star players some leeway.

It's not going to happen, but I'd like to see Huberdeau with Lindholm and Pelletier.

Now that were post deadline we're limited in the number of call ups from the farm right?

Quite the opposite direction these teams have gone since their playoff series. Impressive to see the Stars competitive with those Benn and Seguin contracts.

Just play entertaining hockey and keep the fans happy.

Make sure you drop another one goal game to keep the chance in lottery.

The Flames structure isn't different from 25-27 of the 32 teams. You're not going to find many different systems, or systems where offensive players can do whatever they want when they want.

With that said I think they need to look at the shot volume issue and ask themselves if it's hurting the offence.

Is it all finishing? Well their high danger metrics are down this year, better last year but not elite.

Has league goaltending improved to the point that shot volume as a directive isn't working? Does it take away from generating chances because you're rolling with the outside shot too often?

Sutter is right though. This team does not have any game breakers. Johnny and Tkachuk were game breakers, or at least in that realm. All the good teams have game breakers.

Best way to acquire game breakers is via the draft. Lose out. There is no point in stringing together a few wins with the hopes of landing the final wild card spot. This team ain't it.

Shouldn't be too hard, keep doing what they're doing and we should have a nice draft pick come June.
