Deadline is not the time you trade those players and I'm not sure at this point if they would even be entertaining that unless one of the players asked for a trade. Trading either would be somewhat complicated because of the contracts and it's the type of trade that would be made in the offseason.

Brad didn’t fully bash the team, but he did kinda sent a shot to them that he probably would’ve moved a big guy if they got a deal that made sense for them long term based on their performance

Brad keeps saying "this is a good team" like he's trying to convince himself (or us).

In fairness I'm not ready to write off Huberdeau and Khadri. IMO this was a transition year as the new players adjusted to a new system/style of play and tried to find some chemistry with line mates. It's early of course but I like seeing Hubby and Pelts playing together.

Ugh sounds like Snow is in the ER. BT got emotional about that.

I like BT. I think he's a good man who knows what he's doing. I'll be disappointed if this is the end.

I think the talent is there. They just haven't been able to finish on offence, plus the goaltending has been off this season.

I think it's probably actually what he truly believes the rational thought is.

Generally you make more mistakes when you overreact to a season where you have .887 goaltending than you do if you are just patient in those scenarios.

It's funny...because I see lots of people wanting the Flames to run their organization like Carolina. And I actually think their philisophies and how Treliving has worked and how Carolina have worked have been quite similar.

Calculated, don't tend to overreact, and haven't been afraid to be patient even if it's not what outside voices would want them to do.

Press conference ended on a sad note with Nrad breaking down a bit answering a question about Chris Snow. #### ALS

Agreed. I'd like to see him return.

That question about Snowy hit hard. Tough stuff.

I am so I hope you are right. 62 games and I can only think of one where Huberdeau played to expectations.

anyways, Oliver on LTIR if needed creates room to call or add players. Then unprompted, BT mentions room for Matt Coronato ...

I got emotional when Brad got emotional about Chris. Kelsie posted about him earlier. Not as sick as before but sick enough that he needed to be admitted.

Yeah it makes sense from a strategic standpoint if your aim is playoff revenue next year as I doubt they can find the equivalent with freed up cap space.

But if (when) this team needs a major restructuring ... getting a jump on the 2024 off season with two additional 2023 first round picks would have been very beneficial.

Seems a bit short sighted to me.

Keep fighting, Snowy.

Brad sounded positive about Coronato. Combined with the Francis story the other day, I have a good feeling we'll be seeing him in Calgary before the end of the season.

I'm not saying the Flames should be trading Kadri or Huberdeau (I think trading either would be very difficult at any time of the year). Moreso talking about the strategic direction of the team.
