I'm sure all players feel pressure regardless if they are in the playoffs or not, living up to contracts, playing for next contract, wanting to be as good as possible, pride, etc. Pro hockey players are professionals for a reason, dealing with pressure is part of it.
Can't wait to see all these players light it up on team out of the playoffs.
You guys just can't acknowledge that Beauvillier has stepped in and been fine. your hate for rivals blocks your ability to have a reasonable hockey discussion, if Beauvillier had zero points right now you'd be all over it.

Dude STFU nobody cares about Beauvillier
Vancouver does this every year...ask their fans, they always go on a run at the end of the season when the pressure is off

Canucks do this every season, as do a bunch of teams.
Canucks have scored 4+ goals in 4 of their last 7
And yes teams with playoff spots locked up do take bottom feeders lightly...are you new?

Vancouver has 40 goals for in last 12, NYI have 37 with out Barzal for the majority. Not seeing a any evidence.
Players slump all the time (Squeeze their stick) happens when players are in and out of playoff race, if being relaxed helps players perform better teams should be putting unlimited resources into that. You looking to discount stats based on your theory that the pressure is off doesn't fly with me. Just backs up your excuses for the Flames.
Regardless you've made me look like I'm defending the Canucks which I am not, just trying to coax you into more rational discussions about rivals.

I don't think they meant they needed a center back in the deal, I think they meant they needed a center in general to ice an NHL team.

Just tired of your BS in finding whatever stat backs up your argument even if it
contradicts the exact thing you've said in a different thread.
Rest assured if anyone says something about the Canucks or Oilers doing something correct you're there to #### on it and vice versa for the Flames.

maybe they could have used the picks they'd get from Miller and go get Horvat?

So, the full quote is actually much worse.
Aquaman saw the Horvat deal and said "Absolutely none of that."

I actually don't think its the playoffs that put the pressure on players so much as the trade deadline, they just coincide, I suspect the real worry is 'am I going to have to tell the wife we have to move to Buffalo next month and pack everything up and move....again'

Vancouver does this every season guy...look at their record last year after they were out of it.
This isn't a new concept...average teams often go on runs down the stretch when the pressure is off. Flames will likely do the same just watch. They will start winning the one goal games when it's not do or die.

The actual reason Beauvilier is outscoring Horvat is that he just joined a team with an actually good power play and is playing on a top line with Elias Pettersson, who is also really good at scoring goals. The Canucks' PP1 and Pettersson lines are like... the only good things about the team.
Meanwhile Horvat went to a defensively-oriented team with a mediocre PP that just lost its best offensive player for a stretch.
So yeah. Not actually all that surprising. If Beauvilier showed up and suddenly played Selke-calibre defense and the Canucks suddenly turned into a good hockey team when he was on the ice, that would be worthy of comment. But racking up some points? Yeah, cool, that'll happen.

That is good news. It'll be tough to come back after two years off but I hope he can pull it off. Having your career ruined by a stupid kid putting himself and his personal party life above his teammates health would be a truly ####ed up and unfortunate way to have it end.

Drance is such a two-faced hack. He was one of the people who used to harp on and on about how Horvat was not a true two way center and wasn't a play driver. Now that he's off the Canucks, suddently he's "crushing it" and that we can't use points as a way to judge players.
God damn, I hate Vancouver media.

I knew it would happen eventually but it still sucks to hear. The Canucks broadcast is one of the better ones to put on the background when I'm doing other things. John and John are excellent and their intermission crew is good.

He's been a pretty good color guy over his career. Sorry to see him go but I'm sure he will enjoy a reduced schedule.

Some unverifiable rumours currently floating around that his replacement may be Kevin Bieksa who would end up doing the Hrudy thing (some regional games with the national panel on weekends)
