Default How many people here have dated someone they met over the internet?

I met my wife over the internet. Her daughter saw my profile in the old MSN Directory and pointed it out to her mom. She saw I was single and looking, liked what she saw and read, and sent me an e-mail. We e-mailed each other back and forth for a bit, then talked on the phone, and then went out on a date. A year and a half later, we got married.

I've met people over the internet, but I didn't date them because we would start out as friends. Some time would have passed before this person and I would end up dating. So does that still count? Probably not.

I did it once and only once. The gal I eneded up going out for lunch with spent the whole time ranting about this other guy she was seeing and how stood her up and didn't return her phone calls. I excused myself to go to the bathroom and headed for the exit.

I've done it....We arranged a date (on Facebook, believe it or not), then about an hour in, she introduced me to her boyfriend who just walked in and proceeded to make out with him. I excused myself and headed for the door...

I met my wife on the internet. Initially we met up with a large group of friends, and we really did not like each other in that way at first. It took a few months of hanging out every so often and a 2004 2nd round game against Detroit in the nosebleeds (game 4) before things really kicked off.

Now we are married. But we did not initially date off the internet; just kind of met up at a pub with a bunch of other friends. The dating started much later.

Went on a couple dates... never went past the first date. All were way too weird and had too many problems.

So what you're saying is meeting women on the internet is no different than meeting them in normal, everyday life? Now I know to avoid both, thanks.

Yep... stay off the internet...Go to bars. You'll meet LOTS of "normal" women there. .... and most of them hardly have any problems at all.

I did it once. Took her out for dinner and she proceeded to tell me about her heavy cocaine addiction. Naturally I asked her if she knew where to score some.

Maybe she was looking for a threesome.
Sounds like she was a "keeper" to me...

As long as you are only the pitcher and not the catcher, then you are not gay.
