Diapers absorb moisture, so putting a child in a pool in a regular diaper does nothing but absorb moisture, including pee and pool water. Thus, all pee in the regular diaper would mix with the pool water anyway. There might be a small amount left behind in the diaper, but the diaper would be so saturated it would be useless, and mixing with the pool water.
The only option would be to have something which keeps pool water out of the diaper, and pee in the diaper. The tightness of the elastics would then be far too much for the child to handle.

There would be a dip in attendance but what are we talking? 1000 per game? Spend under the cap to compensate. I doubt it costs the owners that much if anything.
NHL revenue was what 35% for ticket sales? I doubt a rebuild would lead to huge losses.
Also, we traded Iggy and Jay Bo and Kipper retired. 1 season and then we had Johnny. Draft a young star and people will come during the tail end of the rebuild. 3-4 year rebuilds aren't terrible to watch for the entire 3-4 years.

Let’s just reframe our arguments as happy little accidents.
Would prefer you to save some thanks to ensure you have enough to boost my numbers when needed, though.

"But Tanner Jeannot got a first"
Yeah, at 2025 conditional first. And he's an $800K 25 year old player on an expiring contract who had a rough year but scored 41 points the year before. Name me a Flame who sounds like that.

Jeannot was a ridiculous overpayment too.
But I wouldn't say any of the other moves made me go "Woah". Meier return was kinda meh, same with Chychrun.
IMO it's not necessarily that the returns have been overpayments (outside of Jeannot), just more that the volume of moves, and the volume of 2023 1sts moved has been surprising.
But really I'm not sure there has been a deal yet where multiple future 1st round picks have been moved. The market value has kind of been 2023 1st plus some pieces.

I honestly don’t see much happening today for the flames. The only team that I think really fits as a trade partner right now is Carolina probably for Toffoli or backlund. And I imagine the flames aren’t willing to part with either of them if it doesn’t return at least a 1st round pick + top 3 prospect. Don’t think Carolina is willing to make that move.

Thanks. I appreciate that.
I also think there are some things I would have done differently, and would do now, but I of course have no idea what the offers are, nor what the true edict from on high is.
I.e. I would look to trade Toffoli if I could get a 1st and another asset, like a 2nd or no lower than a B-prospect. I would not trade him just for the sake of it.
I would trade Lewis for a 4th or better, but would probably keep him if the offer was worse than that.
I would not trade Lindy unless I knew he was not going to sign here. Same with Dube. I have Hanifin in this boat as well.
Mangiapane I would look at if the price was right, but I think the offer would have to be a clear win to do it, otherwise I keep him, as his goals would be hard to replace. If I have a guaranteed 25 goals coming in for cheaper (Zary? Coronato? That's a lot to ask a rookie), then it is a deal I make, but not sure I know I have that coming in, so where do the goals come from?

It feels like BT is in a rare space where folks really won't get angry at him for selling just about any player at the right place.

From the flames stance, there should be 0 untouchables. I'd say Huberdeau is untouchable but for all the wrong reasons.

I think the fact that the 2023 draft is supposed to be good made their value in trades more certain at the TDL and therefore more likely to be used (versus good prospects that can already be evaluated). In other words, someone in the past might have been offered a late 1st round 2022 but said "no, I'd rather have that guy you drafted two years ago that looks really good, because that 27th overall pick is such a crapshoot".

I agree. There are players I would prefer to be moved but if anyone got sold I would not be disappointed.
Unless it's a terrible trade.

Yup. Everyone is so frustrated, we just want to see anything.
But putting emotions aside, I won't be surprised if they do nothing and run back a similar team next year with off season tweaking.
