That seems to be SOP for some posters. Get outraged about something that may happen due to their belief that this is how the the organization thinks and operates. Then, when it doesn't happen, they rinse and repeat on some new rumour or idea that pops into their head. Maybe it's a way to help justify their pessimistic viewpoint, I don't know, but it arises pretty regularly, IMO.

I like flamesnation's idea of adding Vrana and Drouin. I don't like their idea of trading Backlund though. Vrana and Drouin would make us that much faster.

I'm guessing Brad is waiting until tomorrow for moves. He's wanting to steal the thunder and show that he's backing up his words about Calgary last July.

You can see why Treliving would have a hard time making moves. The stats say Calgary is a good team just suffering through a year of bad goaltending and an off year from a couple historically good producing skaters. So, if the goaltending is fixed either from changes (Wolf) or merely improved play which both goalies have shown in the past, and if Huberdeau and Mangiapane have better years, which is also a pretty good possibility, the team's fortunes turn around fast.
Add to that a pretty limited market for his rental players and unknowns for his 2024 UFA class and it's a pretty tough set of decisions.
