they would have lost to LA in round one last year if they had Doughty

Markstom/officiating gave them a free pass in round two and then they got murdered

"final four" is kinda a joke if we are being honest

I see them making fun of the Leafs not winning a round but as if they would ever beat Tampa in a playoff series either

Any team, including us, who makes the Playoffs has a chance to come out of the West. It might as well be the AHL compared to the East, and that's even with an Avs team that's getting hot.

Kesselring is probably a better prospect than Dineen, who's a pending UFA.

Oilers would be a perennial 4-5 game out in Toronto's division. Just making the playoffs would probably be less frequent too

Competition has been light in the west for a few years now

And they still got booted by the Jets and Blackhawks, and nearly LA if not for Doughty's absence

I had to look up Cam Dineen.
turns out his dad's name is Kevin Dineen, but he's not "that" Kevin Dineen.

Is his dad Cam Neely?

No wait, that doesn't work.

Are they sure it wasn't Phil Kessel's ring?

I hope you are referring to his Stanley Cup ring.

Oilers GM: Need more forwards.

Rest of the world: Offense is not your team's weakness.

I don't think anyone hates Lewis, but he is a replaceable expiring contract, might as well get something for him.

Ugh, oilers have made some pretty good moves with Kane, kotsin, Edholm, now this.

If mcdavid has any bit of an extra compared to his unreal pace this season, I think oilers have a lengthy run ahead. The only real challenge in the west are the avs.

I hate this season.

^^ lol they will be done. Only team they match up good against is us and that is beyond frustrating as a flames fan. I think they get rolled by anyone else. LA would have won last year with doughty, no doubt in my mind.

people have been talking like this for a decade...all these moves mean is when they don't win the cup they will have lost assets for nothing

Exactly. At $800k maybe you get a 6th but for $400k you might actually get a quality pick. Bjugstad at this point isn't very good and he lander a 3rd.

Lewis is a good depth player and good on the PK, but I would rather have the 3rd.

100%.

The only thing that has me concerned is mcdavid is next level this season. If he has another ‘playoff gear” the only real hole they have is goaltending.
