Of all the goalies who have played this year Vegas currently only one is healthy(Hill) so that might be why they're considering Quick.
Though the injuries look to be minor and Thompson and Brossiot could be back next week. But injury recovery is not always easy to predict.

When I heard Vegas wanted a goalie, my pulse quickened.
When I found out that it was quick, that quickly cut me to the quick.

Columbus is paying half of Quick's salary ($2.9M, prorated over the remainder of the season) in exchange for Hutchingson and a 7th. Why in the world would they do that? Hutchinson is just a replacement backup and whoever you'd draft with a 7th was probably going to be available as a free agent an hour later.

Obviously Quick didn't want to go to Columbus, and with his stats, they weren't going to get anything of value. Why not treat the player well? For a team like Columbus has trouble drawing players, that can only help.

Still seems like an expensive 7th rounder unless they plan on keeping Hutchison for longer term.
