A bargain...I think. Don't hold me to that.
He's only 26. This takes him to 34/35 with the last few years open to movement.

With the cap expected to go up in a couple of years, this deal can be excellent value shortly

High AAV but totally deserving. I think he is underrated. He gets recognition he deserves but in the same breath if people were making a list of top wingers in the league they'd forget to include him in the top until someone asks "What about Pasta?" and then he gets placed near the top.

He's a top 5 player in the league. Salary is in line with that and in 5 years if he is still playing at this level, which seems highly likely, he will be a bargain.

Ever since he wore that suit at the Beijing airport I've wanted him on my team.

He’s good and this year he’s put up huge numbers, but McDavid, Matthews, Mackinnon, Makar, Kucherov, are easily ahead career wise, and you’d probably put Panarin, Draisaitl, Hedman, Vasilevkiy, as guys you’d take on your team ahead of Pasta.
It’s a decent contract considering he’s 26 (which seems impossible).

Seems like a good contract for the team and player. This will look really good in just a few years.

I with the majority of you who believe this is a fair contract.
I think he's worth every penny.

Second best player in the league this year behind McDavid.

He took a massive discount last time he signed (6x6) at a time when overpaid contracts were being handed out like candy. All he's done is prove every season he is worth it. Can't believe he's only 26 either. Thought he'd be 30 by now. Feels like he's been in the league forever.

IIRC he signed just before the Oilers handed Draisaitl a ton. I think he just missed the beginning of those huge RFA deals.
