Don't rush trading Hanifin, Lindholm or Toffoli if the return is not much!
Wait until offseason, as this years trades are going crazy and, I think, there will be lots of teams which in cap hell and give away some good players in low trade value.
I like to keep Backlund and if he signs fair deal to continue play as 3rd centre better keep him. Or if he wants to go for a cup trade him.

The only reason we might come out well is if some team gets desperate seeing how many other teams have made moves. But I don’t see that happen too often.

Get outta here with your rational mature Buddhist zen perspective. This thread is for far fetched rumours, insiderrrs, disastrous for both side trade proposals, and comical whining that the Flames haven't made a dozen moves.

I doubt that the Flames move a centre. The slotting is pretty good and to make a big splash trading either Lindholm or Kadri will probably require the off season to re-jig salary cap issues.
I do agree with gvitaly that Dube did show some good signs at C, so perhaps he could step in, but I still think it would be a long shot. (Not counting Lewis, he should be gone for a pick)
The wingers could be another story. Should be great value in Toffoli. I still think Coleman has value, but would likely see salary back in any deal. Mangi would be a tough one to figure out, but they would need to listen.
Still deals to be done. I am hoping it is quiet for the next 24 hours and then buyers get in a bit of a panic. Carolina, Seattle, NJ, LA could still make deals. I would be really interested to see if Buffalo jumps into the mix. Finally, I wonder if some teams (NJ?) might look for a back-up goalie. Vladar could provide some insurance at a reasonably low cost.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Ron Francis has gone on record saying he doesn't plan on making moves at the deadline. Doesn't strike me as the type to swerve, or one who enjoys surprises or surprising others.

Value could definitely drop. Toffoli is having a career year at 30. Backlund is having a career year at 34. Tanev is great but is injury prone and 33. There's no gurantees except that there value is high right now.

Flames basing season and franchise direction on result of March 3 home game against the leafs. This seems clear now.

As wild as it may sound, they may be doing that. I think Yzerman did that - if the Wings beat the Senators rather than vice versa, I'm not sure Detroit trades Bertuzzi.
