Posted them as 1 of 4 teams a few hours ago who could be in the hunt for him with Thompson out. Makes sense for them to add that security.

They are 10 up on Calgary (9th) and 12 up on the Preds (10th). They would need to go on a monumental collapse to miss.

While it’s not a total albatross of a contract I’d gladly ship Markstrom there. I have little optimism he’ll ever recover his confidence again. If you can get out from under him and get there first, why not. Pretty crazy how firsts this year are suddenly out there from the contenders.

Quick is just a name at this point. Just look at his splits over the past month. Not even NHL caliber anymore. Not sure why any team with playoff aspirations would bring him in but it just goes to show that Markstrom will be movable if the Flames want to go in that direction.
