If a goalie cannot handle being called out, and if a coach passively calling out a goalie can shatter his confidence then the problem is on the goalie. A good goalie would've think "eff you and I'll show you" and put out a performance of his life.

Close the gap and challenge the shooter instead of letting him skate in uncontested for a shot.
Like, Vladar HAS to have that, but the defense shouldn't be backing in.

Too some degree you absolutely can. Sutter completely mismanaged the goaltending situation when Vladar was playing well and had earned the net. Instead he insisted on continually going back to a struggling Markstrom and now both the goalies look completely lost and don’t exhibit an ounce of confidence.

Come on man...you aren't going to give up zero shots a game. A shot is going to get through once in a while. That's why you pay a goaltender.
