Unfortunately, like Hyman, if it gets them better now, the age does not matter.
I only hope and, literally pray, their goaltending and general nogoodness shines through, as, without knowing the return, this makes them better today.

It does, but it is very difficult for defensemen to help a team that doesn't like to play defense.

Trading Ekholm speaks to a pretty big change in direction/desire to get younger.

I doubt Nashville is retaining, but it would make sense to me.
It doesn't make sense for that long unless your getting something very good. Quality would be needed if you did that. Oilers don't have quality. Their firsts won't be quality if Ekholm is traded to them and big salary is retained. 10% max IMO is ok for Nashville

Yeah, he's a '90 baby. Turning 33 before the seasons out. Dude is pretty far along. But presently he's useful

The drop off when McDavid leaves should be brilliant

I prefer he blows his load and still doesn't win the cup rather than having picks

100%. It used to be, I'll come to the top of the circle but that's it because don't worry Keith or Nurse will handle it. But they didn't.

Now it's, I'll come to the top of the circle but that's it because don't worry Ekholm and Kulak will handle it. But they won't.

Barrie, 1st, Schaefer, and a 4th doesn't feel that bad at all...feels like Nashville should have gotten a little more (although I did forget Schaefer was their 1st last year).

Not having to move Broberg, Bouchard, or Holloway to shore up their defense is a win for the Oilers IMO.

So two firsts, Barrie and a 4th.

Quite the price to pay for three years.

Oilers fans will like that. Cheaper than I thought it’d be. Barrie is a dump

He's the biggest winner in this trade. Imagine getting to leave Edmonton to go live in Nashville. Congrats Tyson

As far as I can tell, Barrie is probably the biggest "W" involved in this trade when it comes to day to day life.
