Regular season isn't his issue. 1-6 record in the playoffs is.

We will see, could easily lose in round 1 again...and if by some miracle they pull through GL with the Bruins

IMO, Bruins are playing above their head this year. They’re the favourites and definitely going to be hard to beat but I think Toronto and Carolina in the east stand the best chance. Toronto is primed age wise to be a good matchup.

The fact the Flames are falling out of the race took them out of this one.

Is this the year Mitch Marner shows up in the postseason? Still lots of question marks and I would not be surprised to see them one and done once again as the regular season really doesn't equate to much when it comes to this group as they struggle worse than the Flames in the playoffs and that's hard to do.

Yeah. There is a ton of pressure on Marner. Last year their full team looked great. If they won that Tampa game I think they would have had a long run as the path was easy. Honestly this year they look like a team that will grind it out well while also being fast. They’ve built a contender.

pretty impressive to be playing above their heads for 5 solid months, without a dip

The challenge for the Leafs is that they have to face 2 of the top contenders, in the first 2 rounds

Getting past Tampa is tough. Also getting past Boston is tough. They will have to beat 4 legitimate contenders to win it all. Tough to do.

Do you think they were prepared to beat this offer a week or so ago? You're hopefully right that they're not looking at adding now but at the same time, would have been hard for them to match this price.

I am. Their defence looks weak. Goaltending looks to be a miss for the first time as well.

Ask Tampa how that worked in 2018-19 playoffs vs Columbus!

Sure, but I think we can list a lot more teams who went wire to wire in the regular season, doing well in the playoffs, than doing poorly

I don't know. I think NYR and Tampa are probably my favourites.

Carolina looks dialled in too. Leafs may have the best playoff built team they have had yet if Goaltending holds up.

East is absolutely insane this season.

Also think the Avs coast through the west if everyone is healthy.
