Chychrun is a younger, and possibly better version of Barrie.

I'd imagine Holland wants to deal Bouchard, but teams are asking for Broberg.
Brad needs to be on cockblocking duty this week

I don't think Sutter cares about the points right away.

Pelletier plays hard every game, he doesn't take many high-risk chances in the defensive zone, and he isn't afraid to get into the dirty areas in front of the net. Sutter looks at this stuff first, he knows the offence will come if you have skill if you play this way.

Sutter does not care how skilled you are, you need to work hard every shift. I don't think he grasps why anyone wouldn't.

You can have high skilled player just live off their skills and hurt their team. Look at the Oilers with the wonder twins. Leon is minus for the season on pace for 120 points.

Oh, I agree, and it was his work on the 4th line (with a good pro like Lewis) that solidified that impression.

Chychrun is a cornerstone franchise defenceman that Hanifin was projected to be at draft.

Flames should definitely be involved in a bidding war with the Oilers for him. Either drive up the price or keep him away from your #1 rival.

I don’t see Chychrun THAT much better than Hanifin. I’m curious on the return with Chychrun, because Hanifin has slightly less value, and a little more less with Chychrun having one extra year on roughly the same cap hit.

Hanifin has an easier time staying healthy I'll say that much

Coyotes will have to eventually reduce their asking price for Chychrun as it's pretty clear the rest of the league thinks they are asking too much. I imagine the urgency level to move him is high given they have sat him out for this long.

What does Edmonton have to offer in terms of prospects for him that Arizona want?

Strange perspective from an Oilers fan

Flames should just trade Hanifin+ for Chychrun.

Chychrun - Weegar would make a nice top pair.

Chychrun - Andersson
Hanifin - Tanev
Zadorov - Big and young guy

This would be my plan if trade for Chychrun.
Why Treliving signed Weegar in a hurry last year.
He would be perfect trade chip to Arizona.
Weegar + 2023 1st or Coronato + Phillips/Ruzicka.
Then Arizona can trade Weegar to someone for 1st.

But if we trade Hanifin for Chychrun then there won't be much improvement in our D. So I don't want include 1st or Coronato.

The Jeannot draft class package™, JP and Broberg?

I’ll just be happy with no rentals. I’d like to see some core guys moved but that will be offseason at the earliest

Hanifin just doesn't complement Andersson

He's a good player, but the fit hasn't been quite right here

I would absolutely entertain Hanifin to Chychrun upgrade

I don’t think Arizona would want Hanifin, they are after high picks and prospects.
