I have worked with Rob a lot as well. He is a great guy, and cares so much.

Mike Lownsbrough on the Eric Francis show right now. If any of you were around during the Sports at 11:00 days give it a listen on the Podcast. Francis has had some good guests on over the last few weeks including Grant Pollock and Peter Maher.

^ i wanted to listen to this one but had a work meeting.
i was hoping that they might shed some light on the practical joke that got mike unemployed and i don't believe that his career ever really recovered from that incident

Oh they do!!! I won’t spoil it. Hopefully you can find it and give it a listen, if not I can share.

That was a pretty good interview….as were the Pollock and Maher ones.
I was wondering the specifics of the joke were.
Sports reporting has really changed.

Speaking of the old Sports at 11:30 gang, is Mike Toth still around? Since he left SN, I haven't heard what he's been up to. Google says he's apparently a freelance broadcaster now?

It was a great interview...his story about Brian Pillman in Kelowna with the Harts was hilarious.
Mike is fighting the dreaded big "C" right now, but he sounded really good.

Why does Logan Gordon sound like he's choking on a burger?!?!
Driving me bonkers
If you've got nasal/throat issues and you do radio, take time off
Or is SN that short staffed

I don't know if anyone was listening to 960 this morning but the Lubo segment was pretty hilarious. He was trying to be all optimistic about the Flames talent levels by totally overrating them but Russic totally shot that down. The part when Lubo brings up the Bruins is all sorts of bizarre.

Yeah was just listening (which I do rarely). Frankly I didn't think either of them were making their points very well. Russic asking "do the Flames have a single player that will be nominated for the Hart in the next 5 years" was a dumb way to make his point. And then Lou's counter was even dumber.
And what Lou could have said, in terms of what the Bruins are an example of is that you don't need to totally bottom out to get elite players. McAvoy was drafted 14th, and Pasta 25th.
That's probably the first 10 minutes I've listened to of the morning show in months. I won't be back.

That really feels like a 'oilers living in your head rent free' argument.

I caught the Ron Maclean segment this morning and I definitely said “Oh ###### you Ron” multiple times through the call as he continued to bring everything back to the Oilers and McDavid. He said the Oilers early comeback wins against the Flames and Pens could be tied back to when those teams (who both had got starts) lost to the Oilers early in the year. He then brought up the issue oh how the Flames season ended last year and how the Oilers were the reason.
I will say it again “###### you Ron”

I actually flipped the station on the drive into work -- I don't mind Loubo at all but the discussion this morning seemed a bit all over the place.

Agreed
That was beyond annoying
So many things to discuss about this years playoffs
Yet that’s all he had to offer
I suppose I should have expected that though

SN960 really should know better than having him on a Flames station peddling his Oiler poetry.

Instead he focused on Bergeron which didn't make a lot of sense.

Ron's heel turn is so funny to me. Because I've seen clips of when he got the HNiC job and Cherry calling him a Flames fan lmao.
