Meier is Swiss, he was just playing the neutral card.

If Zetterland is the best prospect given up that’s a win for New Jersey
I figured Holtz would have to be in there for sure

I liked Zetterlund, but happy it's him going and not Holtz. Don't even care if Meier resigns in NJ.

Given the other rumored offers that the Sharks turned down, I was expecting more.

Good deals by the Devils. That conference is going to be great to follow in the playoffs. Bruins, Rangers, Devils have all added significantly. Lightning are still a great team as are the Hurricanes. Leafs have the top end talent, but playoffs are a different beast for them.

Firedman says he thinks there is an injury concern with one of the players holding this up:

so reports so far:

Meier (50% retained)

Okhotiuk (2019 61st OA pick)
Mukhamadullin (2020 20th OA pick)
2023 1st

Depends on the condition of the 2024 pick for this to be a decent win for SJ

Seems like SJ received quantity over quality. Deep draft this season though and some depth for their prospect pool.

Just seems like a lot of stuff for SJ. I guess they hope the picks pan out. Otherwise no studs going back the other way, which is what I expecting for possibly the top rental with 50% retained.

Seems like a great deal for the Devils, hope they go on a long run.

Feels like the Dion trade.

Announced he's traded and the pieces trickle in slowly and you are wondering wtf.
