I have some serious regret ones. I have 11 tattoos, I am 48 and my sister took me to get my first one when I was 18. It is a Grimm Reaper, no regrets there. The 2nd one I got was bad though, my friend and I went to get tattoos and he really wanted a white lion but couldn't afford it. So I gave him part of my money for the tattoo I wanted and chose an eagle instead as it was cheaper. I didn't even like eagles but damned if I wasn't getting some ink. It came out looking like a chicken that belonged in a play safe video. Later I got it covered over with the demon from the cover of Mercyful Fate's album Don't Break The Oath. When I was in my early 20s I got married and my wife got into tattooing and I was her guinea pig. She even did a tattoo on Cheese although I doubt that held up well, none of the ones she did on me did. The worst one I have is one on my left back shoulder, it's a fn butterfly fairie! I hate it!!! I have all these cool horror themed tattoos and here is this damn wimpy butterfly fairie on my back! I keep meaning to get it covered but finances alas won't allow it. So ya, I have some regret tattoos for sure.

Are you thinking having a colour piece or black and white? I've got 2 artists in mind who could do an incredible job if you're looking for recommendations. One is solely black and white, the other is both black/white and colour, and both of these guys specialize in realism. Edit: the guy who does black and white only also does a ton of Asian style tattoos, and if I were going for a black and white piece he would be my pick without a doubt.
Thanks my dude! All my pieces are black and my third, if I get it, will stay black. I'll hit you up if I decide to seriously consider it. I assume your guys are in Calgary, which isn't an issue as it's worth the flight if the artist is amazing. I have a couple good guys in Vancouver too including a famous artist from Japan who set up a shop in Van.

Here's the 2 artists I was thinking of and the Instagram handles, at the very least they're both worth a follow. I believe both guys announce on instagram when they have bookings. Roveink did my sleeve and hand and he's pretty rad. Both guys are in Calgary.
Spoiler!

I also saw that photo a few days ago and it seems that he's certainly not "normal": "A release issued Thursday describes Stamatakos' multiple tattoos — "a heart and teardrop and stitch trail on his left cheek, a stitch trail on his right cheek, “SD KEYZ” on his right calf, “THE WORLD IS MINE” on his left hand, “SPARTON” on the right side of his neck to name a few.""
Gotta figure a lot of those would have hurt, a lot. Like all the "Ha ha's" on his forehead to start with.
I have a couple of tattoos - the first one was a ying yang symbol and then 8 years later, I had a cover of a Radiohead album (Com-Lag) on my arm. Still happy with the Radiohead one, but the ying yang is a bit meh...not terrible, but more 'typical' I guess of someone who wanted a tattoo at 19 but didn't really think about what he wanted.
some kid was getting a Spaceman Spiff tattoo next too me... I wonder if there's any regret there?
I'd definitely consider getting a nice BW tattoo over the ying yang, but haven't felt the urgency to do it.
I have one on my outside tricep from last year. I really like the location in that I can wear longer sleeves to cover, but a shorter T-shirt would expose some. It's a sentimental piece I designed with the artist. I had the idea for a while, but the execution was pretty impulsive.
I do wish it was bigger and took up more real estate... the design we came up with, I'm not sure how I could expand on it to make it more of a whole shoulder thing. In general I'm 8/10 satisfied with it even a year later.
Honestly the experience was way more pleasant than any dental extraction I've had so I wouldn't hesitate to get more, but they'd have to again be with meaning.

Not sure how ready you are but roveink just opened his books, probably a little soon but he's taking submissions now.
I always have a good laugh when I see on Twitter "call the police if you see this individual" and they're super tatted up and there's always that first comment that says "any distinctive marks" huehuehuehue
