Nope.

Maybe a little stick tangle up a second before, but Kessel just stumbles and lands on top of Vladar.

Oh. Trust me, I don’t figure Kadri is a game breaker in a number 1 centre sense. He is a second line centre and far from elite. I meant that due to some experience in the playoffs recently, he has risen to occasion when the game is on the line. I’ve seen none of that this year.

Agreed on Huby. At this point, I’m done with him as a player for this year. He has shown who he is this year and I’ll just await till next year to see if he is a true dud.

I love Backlund, and he's been playing great the last stretch of games, but his brain farted in this OT.

It felt like they started the third like they thought it was OT.
Just keep throwing the puck back to the D and wait for Vegas to open up.
Doesn't work so well with 10 skaters on the ice though.

MoneyPuck still has us with better odds to make the playoffs than both the Wild and the Avs, so all is probably well.

Really tough loss, the Backlund line change in OT was not good, Vladar's 2nd goal against was not great, Hanifin had some brain cramps. Just little things adding up.

But, it was a fun game. And the Flames were pretty dominant for a good chunk of the game. They also have 3 of 4 points to start this trip, and I have no doubt they can win Saturday. 3 points out of the last playoff spot and they play the Wild twice.

They ain't selling at the deadline. They're still in the thick of it. I still think they get in. It's going to be fun, buckle in and hope they play well Saturday. After this tough OT loss I think they have a great game.

The Flames have played in 35 one goal games so far this season. This now makes 22 one goal games the Flames have been on the losing side of vs 13 one goal games they have won.

They are not mathematically eliminated

That’s the best you can say

Vladar was mediocre but Hanifin costed them the game

Knights were fortunate to come back quite honestly (or Flames unfortunate)

They look beatable and not scary in the slightest

Backlund trying an end to end 1 on 3 rush is a waste of energy. It’s all about possession and creating odd man rushes. Especially 2 on 1’s. Gaudreau was incredibly good at it because he was so hard to cover 1 on 1, and if he worked around long enough chances were he could beat someone and bang. 2 on 1.

Or in our case a 3 on 2 that ends up in our net because of a bad rush, a tired forward and a dumb change.
Exactly this, the way Backlund played 3 on 3 is what I see in my beer league hockey.

Outplayed them for most of the night after playing last night. I’ll take that matchup.

Why 4?

Flames were the better team most of the game

I did only see the worst parts of the game to be fair lol. Maybe there is a chance then.

Yeah, don't ever rush 1 on 3 and gas yourself. Only on clean cut breakaways

Serves Sutter right for putting a silly trio in to start OT

The defenseman knocked him in. But then he grabbed Vladar's leg and held onto it. 100% interference.

Honestly, I t’s time for some ruthless “intellectual honesty” from the Flames organization but I doubt that will happen. Emphasis on ruthless for a change.

I'm honestly tired of people posting MoneyPuck links. The team doesn't win consistently enough to be able to secure a playoff spot. I don't care how good the underlying analytics are or whatever. They clearly aren't winning them enough games

What a ridiculous excuse for an NHL Team… seriously.

Zero killer instinct from anyone and the lack of leadership is astounding.

Can’t watch anymore.

If the Flames do sell, they need to explore the possibility of moving Hanifin. Guy just doesn't have that next gear when the going gets tough and the return should be good. Assuming Kylington is back next year he could help fill in the top 4 if Hanifin is traded.
