This can all happen within an hour and the creator has no recourse and are lucky if they can even start again from scratch.
Did the creators violate the TOS’s of the platform and were warned previously of their violations? Having your entire earnings potential rise to the fickle nature of the algorithms is in general a brutal business plan.

"Marianne Williamson, a prominent progressive who ran for president in 2020, confirmed in an interview published Thursday that she will run again for the Democratic nomination for president in 2024."

Couldn't let the Republicans have all the batsh-t loonies, I suppose.

^at least she seems like a genuinely nice and good natured human. We could always use more of that in politics.

Poor Holden. Now he will have to decide which “cancel” he would like. Would he like to have to take a two week break before coming out with a Netflix special earning him adoration and more fame? Maybe make a video game that brings in a billion dollars? Become the voice of a beloved character and make millions doing it? All of them sound terrible.

Janet Jackson had Timberlake accidentally expose her breast and took one of the most significant hits to a pop star career.

Sinead O’Connor pretty much had her life ruined for protesting against child sexual abuse. Keep reading that sentence until it really sinks in.

So yeah, cancel culture exists. But it’s not for bigots who get called bigots for being bigoted.

The Dixie Chicks and their criticism of the impending invasion of Iraq was a big one too.

Great example. I think Kaepernick is another solid one. And you can start seeing why the "right" is so afraid of cancel culture; they had weaponized it years ago.

That's the administrator for USAID (Agency of International Development). Big part of its mandate is helping to support democracy in developing countries. It would be odder if they didn't make a comment on this.

Keep in mind of Nigeria's modern past, with corrupt presidents who have often just been military leaders either seizing power or rigging elections. The 1993 election was considered the most fair and least corrupt, and was subsequently annulled when the military seized power again. The 2011 election saw 100s of deaths. A (relatively) fair and peaceful election in Nigeria is still a big deal and certainly would be for an organization who has been working to try to get to that point.

Of course it's ironic because of the insurgency, but that's a failure of the rest of world's AID's for not helping the USA lol.

Worse,
It's a way for people to profit off of someone else's content.

Don't watch this video someone put effort into making. Watch me watch it and kind of giggle. It's now MY content, not theirs.

This is an interesting take. Is the NFL right or left wing? I mean yes, they are owned by bazillionaires but also they bring awareness to many causes.

No team thought Kaepernick was good enough to get around all the noise? Were fans really going to boycott games? I don't think NFL fans would boycott games for any reason including child murder.

NFL is as RW as it comes. I would put them second to only NASCAR as far as sports go. The reality it that sports and athletes in general are very RW in their beliefs. Even though they are "team sports" marketed to the blue collar set, they embrace the rugged individualism and capitalism so embraced by RWers. And like their stereotypical RW counterparts, they like to cheat on their taxes and be general self-centered ######bags.

Throw in a lack of education while you're at it.
