The Wild get another depth pick in a 5th for retaining money for Boston.

Wild doing good work.

The wild sure like helping other teams set up for a cup run and gain top end picks. 4th and a 5th for what about $4M cap? Terrible

So 25 of the teams in the league should be dumping their top players.

Yeah, sounds reasonable.

Moneypuck's power ranking model has the Flames ranked 3rd in the NHL and you're saying this is not a playoff team.

L o l

Are they playing up to their standards? Hell no. But is the roster put together a bad one? Hell no.

They’ve gathered a 4th and a 5th for nothing but money. How is that terrible? That’s smart by the Wild.

Hathaway fits the Bruins like a glove. I can see him becoming a fan favorite.

If the Caps actually sell Tom Wilson (1 year away from UFA) before the deadline, then maybe your point has some merit.

But I doubt they will.

Cap is a premium around the league right now. How is cap nothing? Trade literally does not work without the Wild.

Minnesota still with plenty of cap room after two retentions and the Parise Suter buyouts. Wild.

This will be the 2nd time in my life I'll be rooting for Boston to win the cup. Hathaway is one of my favorite Flames of all time. Guy has so much heart!

Especially they demolish the Leafs along the way.

A late 1st for a top 2 dman who plays in all situations? I think Boston won heavily

Depends if they win the cup, or manage to re-sign him in the offseason. If they blow their run and he signs somewhere else, they surely lost the trade.

It's also cap space that the Wild weren't going to use anyway, and ROR/Orlov's salaries are far less than their cap hit. It's what? $50K per pick?

Seems smart to me.

It's actually about a quarter of a quarter of that. And even less in real money since Orlov's salary is $1.3M this year.
