He is more tenacious than David Moss.

Because Vladar has been so much better? Both goalies have been hot garbage, Vladar has just been slightly less as bad. As it stands now, neither one is giving the team a consistent opportunity to win. This isn't absolving the skaters of their contribution to where the team is at, but it certainly isn't helping.

No its actually not comprable.
If we extrapolate their numbers to a 64 game season based of what they have put on the ice this season.
Vladar is at 35-17-12 for 87 points.
Markstrom 27-24-13 for 67 points
So if a backup got 18 games with Vladar starting they would probbaly need 5-6 wins to get us in.
Markstrom would pace us into the lottery.
Massive difference and Markstroms numbers are Jonas Hiller bad a guy that was chased out of the NHL after his last season with us.
Right now the numbers don't matter as much its the guy who gets us wins.

If you switched games played I think Vladar's record would be similar to Markstrom's. He is lucky the Coyote's goalie fell apart last game. Vladar doesn't give me much more confidence than Markstrom

Vladar hasn't stolen much, although he was on a hell of a heater that Sutter mostly pissed away, trying to get Markstrom going. Markstrom has single-handedly lost a lot more games, and regularly lets in "Cloutiers" at the worst possible time.

You don't have to be flawless to win the division.

The fact the Flames are still in the mix considering the tire fire that has been the 2022/23 season proves your statement.

I hope Walker Duehr becomes Tanner Jeannot-lite. Not likely to match that goal-scoring ability, and probably not as good at fisties, but otherwise I hope Duehr looks at him as the player to emulate, though Jeannot is having a bit of a down season.

I would love if the only issue this season was Markstrom, it would be such a simple fix, but it's clearly not. Lots of issues need to be cleaned up to make the playoffs. Luckily for the Flames they still have time to improve in multiple areas.

Definitely NOT all goaltending. However, that has been the biggest problem. And bad goaltending results in poor play, lacking confidence.
The point the poster made, stands.

I think I have been to 3 of those 7 games. And the seats are NOT cheap there. The atmosphere is great. The crowd is fun. But it is a house of horrors for the Flames. Not going back until the curse is broken.

What's with Francis and the Whalers logo, are we finally trading him to Carolina for that elusive bag of pucks??
