I really don't understand the ignore feature. Don't like it, scroll past.

The issue is the big dump in the thread created by those who respond derailing the previously ongoing conversation. Ignoring or scrolling past doesn’t fix that. Go look at the war in Ukraine thread

What? Seriously?

You need to take this much less seriously. It's just an internet forum. Scroll on past the people you don't like. Your engagement is voluntary.

Honestly, it's really crappy modding that is the problem. Yoho is so clearly a troll that anyone should see that. The fact he hasn't long ago been banned probably shows that at least some of the mod team are right wing nut jobs as well.

Yoho takes quite a lot of abuse on this forum. From insults to childish degrading remarks about who he/she is. Odd thing is he/she never responds to it.

I thought we were all adults here and not grade school children.

It's only a matter of time before he/she/it says something incriminating enough to be ban worthy.

He's been skirting the line very well, I'll give him that.

Hard to determine the ratio of sad to hilarious of this thread.

Discouraging posting on an internet Message Board is also bad form.

I find it fascinating how someone who posts tweets with links to Calgary Herald and National Post (the odd True North) articles without any commentary whatsoever creates a supply shortage of pitchforks. Why someone who leans right wing and promotes right wing politics within the politics threads (in Alberta) causes so much angst is really confusing.

Yoho is pretty far from an actual troll. Yes, they love to make obnoxious pokes at what they perceive as leftist politics and politicians. How many people on here love to the same to people on the right?

If you don't want to hear opposing views, don't go into threads about politics. I definitely don't agree with Yoho, but a quick post search reveals that almost all of their political posts are confined to threads about politics that actually have the word politics in the title.

If someone thinks a poster never engages in good faith or is otherwise not worth engaging with, it seems like it would make sense to just… not engage with that poster.

The whole idea that people must combat misinformation or ensure bad ideas don’t “breed in the shadows” or whatever dumb #### people say to justify trying to seriously engage with people that don’t take things seriously is pretty much nonsense. None of this means anything, it’s a message board.

Regardless of what I think about the poster in question, making threads like this are no better than the losers who pretend people “follow them around” on a message board or send threatening, abusive, or other weirdly personal messages because they don’t like another poster. I’m on the receiving end of both all the time and they come across as super lame. This is also super lame.

Y’all gotta relax. DM the poster if you have an issue and talk about it like adults or… don’t? And use the ignore button?

Agreed. Blocking people is super lame. You don't get the full CP experience.

A+ thread though. Can't say I've ever seen a "rage block" thread before.

I must be the most vanilla poster on the site. The only DMs I have are for buy/sell discussions.

Someone send me something disparaging so I feel part of the club.
