1500 points between the glitter twins. Probably 1000 of them on the powerplay.

The PP comes precisely when they need it, with stunning consistency.

If it's not a legitimate penalty, then they fabricate one.

Either way..

Meanwhile everybody knows they would lose every one of these tight games if they had to do it without a man advantage

McDrai steps up for them. That’s the difference until they meet a real contender that can stop McDrai

Flames have a better team but no one steps up when they need it. And now they have Markstrom

As usual, all of Edmonton’s offence coming courtesy of the Wonder Twins and the McPP. Those losers are such a one trick pony. It’s the exact same script every season.

Thankfully they still won’t get anywhere near the Cup. What a garbage franchise.

And now we are closer to 10th than 8th. Any kind of losing streak and the season will be done. We’ll see how they respond to pressure at least.

The Flames are most likely not making the playoffs at this point. 4 points back, they don’t own the tiebreaker and their schedule is about to get tough. Hopefully they resist the urge to acquire at the deadline and just let this season go. Even if by some miracle they make the playoffs, they’ll quickly be eliminated. Pack it in, and improve your draft position.

Remember the good old days earlier this season when strength of schedule was all in the Flames favor and the team was so much better than their record?

They could still make it but strength of schedule was never a meaningful factor.

No longer can be amazed that we are in a playoff spot n/w/s how crappy this team is.

The losses, coupled with unfavourable OOTs have caught up with the Flames.

4 points back will soon become 6 and at that point its too late.

I agree that if you fall 6 back at this stage without the tiebreaker, you're toast

Don’t expect things to get any more enjoyable to watch, if Hanifin’s insight today in to the internal diagnosis and messaging is any indicator

They believe they need to not force the game. Just check and their chances will come. When they press or get too fancy, that’s when they end up hurting themselves. Don’t look for the pretty play, just get pucks on net.

Don’t expect to see skill shine. They are basically being told they don’t have it

I do believe that being repeatedly told you're not talented enough probably manifests itself on the ice

I don't think it's the best strategy when Sutter is essentially telling them they're a bunch of plugs that have to work for what other teams can do with their hands tied

He might be half right in terms of this team's top end, but I think you get better results if you stroke the top players egos from time to time. Beating the creativity and skill play out of them is likely counter productive.

Yeah thats very worrisome. Seems like the opposite message of what our top line players should be saying. They already feel nutured enough. Sounds like a strategy that will get you 40+ low danger shots, 1 goal and make the ppponents 3rd stirng goalie look lole a vezina candidate.

WTF!!!

Surely everyone knows it’s completely impossible to win a game when you’re behind going into the third?

Yep, the Knights get a point and the Wild won. At least the Kings didn't get a point.

So someone is telling the Flames goalies they are not good enough? That's why they are playing so poorly?

Well that’s a funny thing. The message is that they get in trouble when they are getting fancy but there was no mention of the disastrous mistakes in the D zone, which have been glaringly obvious
