Or it just shows that it doesn't matter which "team" you're on, if you say something absolutely stupid and sexist, you still get called out on it, because that's how it's supposed to work.

I know it's different from blindly following and insisting everything is okay.

I haven't seen any CNN in over a week because I was on vacation so feel free to fill me in on what got Lemon in trouble. He seemed like a pretty level headed, easy going, well liked tv personality.

He was referring to Nikki Haley, who is 51, and has come out in favour of a rule that no one should be president over the age of 75. He said that Haley isn't in her prime at 51, because women are considered to be in their primes in their 20s and 30s, or maybe 40s. Which is obviously sexist, but is also incredibly dumb.

The problem is primarily, if you haven't noticed before now, that Don Lemon is not a very bright dude.

Pretty odd thing to say especially because I recall him always being very supportive of the various female Democrats running for President such as Clinton and Warren.

A ‘no President over 75’ rule would be a great step. Hope this gains momentum.

I swear I'm not taking a shot here, but I had the same question and simply Googled "don lemon" and I was immediately informed.

This feels like casting a line...

I thought it would be more appropriate to get some more details about the situation posted here in case there was something interesting to discuss about the situation for all the folks like you and I who may not have heard about this yet. The prior posts were pretty vague and didn't provide any details.

I’ve always thought can’t run for office after 65 on Election Day accept for a sitting president going for his second term. This would limit the house to 68, the Senate to 72 and the president to 74.

Isn't everyone man or woman considered in their prime during their 20's and 30's??? How is that a sexist thing? Maybe there's more context to what he said that I've missed.

Nikki Haley is past her prime but its ok for a man to be president? How many presidents have been the same age or younger than Haley?

Would hate to hear what Lemon thinks of Nancy Pelosi. Shame on her for working past her 50's, and putting in 30 years of service after that. Man that guy is a tool

Their physical prime, sure, but I imagine there are many/most people in their intellectual prime beyond that time. If Americans were voting for sexiest president, then yeah, cap it at, like, 35, but I think intelligence, education, mental acuity, and experience all probably peak during your 40s and 50s. You can be super smart younger, but I think experience and a track record are important considerations when electing a world leader. Not to say a young person can't be a great leader, though. But these geriatrics? Fata that. When was the last time you needed to call a boomer for advice or help with anything. They're all past their prime at this point.

I have a theory that people become the best, most peaceful selves after 50. There is a sweet spot between 50 and 70 where folks are at their emotional peak.

Fox News median viewer age is 65, and those are the angriest people around

That isn't as relevant as the question what % of people between 50 and 70 watch fox news or are angry. It means nothing.

I've noticed that can be true, but I think it's because that's when people's kids move out and they retire. So all of a sudden you aren't racing around raising children and you no longer have to work. Freshly retired people are often chill AF (right-wing dupes notwithstanding).
