It’s do easy for the fan base to blame the goalie.

Not to blame for any of the goals.

Should start the next game. Defence to blame for the goals.

Agree the defence are to blame - but it isn’t the goalie’s job to make at least a save from that?

Is it possible to go an entire season without a single third period comeback?

You know what is missing ? Maybe stop the odd one that “isn’t his fault”

The opposing goalie has sure stopped a few tonight that if they went in “wouldn’t have been his fault “

Markstrum has been nothing short of a disaster this entire season . How anyone can defend anything from him at this point is mind bottling !
To be fair to him, he is a game changer.

The puck movement and decision making is so slow. Surely there should be like four or five set plays you’re trying to execute.

Low danger after low danger shot. Not beating anyone that way.

I really don’t understand how the Flames changed their PP lines coming out the all star break but kept Toffoli and Lindholm on the same unit. Those are THE two to split up. This whole “keeping lines together” approach is stupid by the coaches.

Agree to disagree I guess
It's a fine scoring chance - but it's saveable. The saves on Huberdeau and Pelletier the other way were better saves by the Flyers goalie and just as tough plays - but he made the save.

Last year Markstrom makes that save thats why he had a .922 save percentage.

This year he's not and thats why he has a .890.

Small in his net and not square to the shot again IMO, and been the issue all year. It's why the 3rd goal beats him too.

How many times this season the analyst have said "Markstrom has kept the Flames in this game/keep the lead with big saves?"

Because it feels like it hasn't been at all. While for the opposing teams, it's the regular narrative.

Guess it could be the combination of league worst shooting percentage and save percentage. Very bad combo to have. Again, it's incredible this team is even in the playoff race. They should be worse in the standings.

Flames 2 goal lead: risky.

Opposition 2 goal lead: insurmountable.

Things that never change. Kadri is one of the worst passers in the league, Hanafin is either just good or really bad. Flames must be top five for most boring unskilled teams in the league. Etc etc….
