I don't disagree, but is it any more disrespectful than Sutter's media interviews? Respect is usually reciprocated, I think Sutter lost the room early this season.

This is a player who was brimming with confidence during the off-season and displayed immense signs of creativity and skill early in the preseason. The coach has gone out of his way to consistently drag his top players through the media by pounding the narrative that this team lacks high end talent. You don't think they hear this stuff? You don't think that has an effect on a players mental state? I do. I see a player that has absolutely tried to cater his style of play to the coaches demands - but what I don't see is the same give and take from Darryl. This is an elite talent that has less five on five icetime than the likes of Blake Coleman, Dillon Dube, Andrew Mangiapane, Nazem Kadri, and Mikael Backlund. That's inexcusable.
Also for all this talk about how Gaudreau and Tkachuk were able to produce in a Darryl led system - where is the acknowledgment that their production was virtually non-existent until the three big guns were put together? Johhny had his least productive stretch as a professional under Darryl prior to that line being thrown together out of necessity, and it wasn't due to an "acclimation" period. I have said it before - but Darryl hadn't had a player produce over a point per game in his system in over two decades prior to those three last season - and he's had some HOF level talent to work with. That speaks volumes about his inability to get the most out of his top end talent (atleast from an offensive standpoint).
From a statistical perspective this team is an almost carbon copy of his teams in LA during the last last three years there where they missed the playoffs twice during that span. Much like this years roster - those kings teams were analytically elite teams that struggled heavily with finishing. It's a reflection of the system that prioritizes getting shots towards the net instead of holding onto the puck and trying to setup more quality. Defensively we play a very aggressive man on man style which is absolutely great for suppressing shots and chances - but when a breakdown does occur it creates an immense amount of open space and room for the best players on the planet. While it all looks very nice on paper - there is legitimate reason to believe it's no longer a viable strategy in todays game.
Does Huberdeau also deserve some criticism? Yes, but to flat out ignore Darryl's complete inability to integrate his skillset into the lineup that allowed him to produce 115 points last year is ridiculous. History largely suggests that his lack of production can be directly tied to the our head coach.
This team is having no fun, and we can all attest to just how much that can limit your output and productivity.

This 100%.
Isn't it the coaches job to assess his team and implement effective systems to promote strengths and deal with or limit weakness?
Seems to me Sutter bullishly pushes his system on any player/team regardless of those strengths or weaknesses and stubbornly refuses to observe and adapt.

I don’t think taking Friedman’s hyperbole as fact and then using it to come up with another equally weak “truth” is really beneficial in any way.

And if they don't adapt he demeans them into adapting.
"This team has no talent, that's why they have to play my system".

Gaudreau's two worst years were 2019/20 where Peters started and Ward finished as the head coach. Then 2020/2021 where Ward started and Sutter finished.
His two best seasons was #1, a full season with Sutter as HC and #2 a full season with Peters as HC.

Name that player for every other team in the league.
You can't because not every team has that player. Sadly, we're one of those "have not" teams.

This is not a locker room issue or the players not liking each other thing.
This is strictly players who have turned on Sutter. They don't like him and the defensive play of the team speaks volumes.

I honestly believe that the best thing for this team is a complete enema. From top to bottom. Replace the President, GM, Scouts, Coach, all of it. We need a total organizational overhaul.
And I say this as someone who typically never blames the coaches. But I have it on pretty good authority that the dysfunction is rampant among all levels of the team right now. It’s a complete and total mess from top to bottom.

None of that will help. Need a new owner for a proper culture change.

Did all the players 25 and under hear the good things Darryl said about Pelts? Or that Pelts said behind closed doors Darryl said something completely different? I'm guessing, no.

Just bonkers and still hilarious to me how some of this fanbase wants to kick out literally the only member of the organization that has shown unwavering loyalty and wants to see this city win a Stanley Cup as much as we do.
You deserve continued Flames gloom

I don’t disagree with that, but it’s the best they can do for now. You can’t really fire the owner.
But I fully agree that the culture starts with ownership. The “just get in” mentality they’ve had for the past 30 years clearly isn’t working. It’s not a good plan. It’s amounted to nothing. Sure, 2004. Still didn’t win that year. One run in 34 years since you’ve won the Cup.

Thank you! And all because a guy who has never won anything, was traded because he didn't show up in the playoffs and has never even had a good game while wearing a Flaming C has hurt feelings?
Meanwhile guys like Tofolli, Dube and Backlund are having great seasons.

Yes.
Essentially we, as fans, are in an one-way relationship with the Calgary Flames. We cheer and support them and they keep taking us for granted and disappointing us.
