Am I crazy for thinking this team has completely adopted the persona of their coach?

Man, this team stinks. If they can make a few necessary changes this summer, make the team more competitive and more fun to watch, I'll gladly jump back on board. But right now I just don't care about watching these guys anymore. This team needs to make us believe again.

This is the new NHL which Sutter isn't the guy for. Teams are built to come from behind and not built to protect leads. The team shouldn't be deflated when giving up the first goal. We haven't won a damn game when trailing after two periods. That's a problem.

I stopped watching after the loss in Detroit last week and don't really miss it. I found even many of the wins painful to sit though. The team this year is just very unlikable.

Not a fan of the way Sutter is handling Vladar… He pumps Markys tires, but if Vladar has a bad game it’s almost like a “told you so” thing… Vladar is a young goalie and needs encouragement not discouragement… would be better if he said nothing at all.

Yeah Sutter is out to lunch on what is stoppable

Goals 3 and 4 were ridiculous passing plays. No goalie stops those, the D can’t allow that situation

Even goal 5 which went 5 hole was after a 2 on 2 battle saw 2 Flames cover the guy who didn’t end up with the puck. And you can’t drop faster than gravity. Even if you want to hang it on the goalie, you can’t ignore the awful D

Shot counts aside, this team is #### on D

And Sutter is kind of a d*** about it

5th goal was brutal to give up, the 3rd wasnt great either. other 3 were legit goals.

The back breaker was the 4th goal on the PK. Everybody was chasing and lost and it was an easy wide open tap in.

Why was the 5th goal brutal?

IIt was 4-2 and it should have been saved. 9 times out of 10 that shot will be saved.

Sutter’s comments about leadership of the team being lacking, mixed with Tanev’s “I’m supposed to be a leader, it’s my fault. It’s on the leaders in here”.

…I’m thinking Sutter railed the “leadership group” after the game for not getting the team ready.

That Tanev interview is just weird to me.

Hard not to speculate that there’s absolutely something wrong with the players/coach relationship.

What a brutal season.

Game situation? Agree. It’s a killer.

Otherwise.. Actually, no. Save percentages from that location and situation are not .900

Not only that, most shots from that location aren’t perfectly placed there. Shot placement accounts for probably 80 percent of stops. You see Kadri’s shot into the Wing goalie logo? Put that in your ‘should stop’ bucket

That shot shouldn’t happen. 2 on 2 battle turns in to 1 on 2 without the puck and 1 on 0 with the puck

Well placed shot. Gravity is a limiting factor. It’s physics.

I know that everyone says five hole goals shouldn’t happen. But they do. A lot.

People need to think hard about why that is

Yeah, that was awkward, to say the least

And it didn’t come from nowhere

Sutter’s presser, he called out the emotion. Then Tanev got extra weird

Not enjoying this

The work he did in the summer was incredible - up to a point.

It was undone by the contracts’ length of term and value for players that had never stepped on the ice for us. We took a massive risk when we had the opportunity to take a look and act accordingly.

That chance is gone and we have few options that look even remotely promising.

Yup. The team is closer to rebuilding than contending and the sooner the front office and ownership is honest with themselves about that the better it is for this franchise. They aren’t a Josh Anderson or a Brock Boeser or a Luke Schenn away from a cup. They need an entirely new core all together. And teams should be building most of that core through the draft, not through trades and signings

I've completely checked out of this season, and considering checking out as a Flames fan for some time. There's only so much suffering and misery one can take. My connection to the Flames is the most relentlessly frustrating relationship in my life.

ill give you maybe 4 out of 5 times that saved but that's probably generous... It wasn't good.

Regardless point of the post was Vladar should have been better, and the team in front of him as well. Loss was a Team effort.

Mind boggling watching Sutter embarrass himself this year. When I wanted GG gone, I didn't think id ever reach the same level ever, wanting a single coach fired, but here we are with Sutter. Much like JM, attach Sutter with him and fire him into the sun.

This guy is so arrogant and ego filled, the first negative comment in the post game when it comes to goaltending was today, about Vladar, despite his last 15 games. Every other post game its to cushion his decision to start Markstrom and its more about the team running out of gas.

Forget the on ice results, this guy should be fired just based on his disgraceful ego filled battle with the media, which seems to be affecting his ability to make sane decisions with the line up. I honestly don't give an F what he's done in the past, this might be the worst overall coaching display in the NHL I've ever seen.

Or maybe keep him till the end of the year so we can keep losing and get a better draft pick.
